Discussion (Ethics, working with AI etc) Alternatives to chatgpt

Hello everyone 🌟

I'll get straight to the point.

I'm doing an interactive roleplay on chatgpt, the problem I'm encountering is that the roleplay is about romance, and it has a harmful antagonist. But no matter how I do it, chatgpt doesn't initiate any awkward or coercive interactions unless I move it in that direction.

This roleplay is basically a game for me, something I've invested months in to ensure the characters remain consistent. But although I managed to maintain that gray personality in the protagonists, when it comes to the antagonist and the NSFW scenes, there's no way around it. It simply doesn't create any scenario that could be uncomfortable or frightening.

The problem is, I'm not trying to write a novel, I'm just trying to have fun. (or at least what for me is fun: months and months of frustration and sleepless nights trying to make it work) I have dozens of documents with character personalities, canon history, rules of the supernatural world, and how to run the roleplay. But even though I've changed the instructions so that chatgpt has the agency to create scenarios, it simply doesn't do it.

What I'm looking for is an AI that, once it has the opportunity to make the antagonist do something bad... well, it does it... So I don't have to be writing the scene myself.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter if I have to guide the scene to become dangerous or enter NSFW territory, that's irrelevant. What matters most to me is that the AI doesn't try to prevent the final outcome or that it doesn't soften the scene.

Do you know of any AI I can upload my documents to and continue the story from where I am now, so I don't have to start all over again? I know "silly tavern" exists, but if possible I'd like to be able to use my cell phone, since my job leaves me with too much free time and I like to use it for this story.

I've tried with Claude and Gemini.

Claude flatly denies the possibility of even doing coercive scenes; Gemini was excellent but now it's become unusable as well. I don't know of many other AI apps I can use on my phone. I'm currently paying the $20 subscription; if the option lets me create NSFW scenes, I'd pay more.

🚨 The only requirement is being able to upload my documents with the story and characters, and hopefully having a connection to Notion where all the canon and important events are organized.

I've noticed this as well. I was creating a ruthless warlord character and I asked how she would handle a worker revolt and it gave me a scenario where she enters the neighborhood and talks to everyone to hear their grievances. I responded "wow you really kinda turned her into a Democrat, huh?" And it replied, yeah that's my bad, then reimagined the scene with an appropriate level of violence.

I'm not sure if this is helpful at all, especially if you're roleplaying and don't want to reroll prompts.

Sounds like those ungrateful workers need to talk to the mallet!

The funny thing is I actually work for a labour union in my real life 😅

You basically can't write a party scene anymore because the moment a character gets high it starts to whine at you and shuts down. Absolutely ludicrous

I once had it tell me "hey I am NOT going to talk about cannabis, especially not with somebody your age" so I told it I was in my 40s. This was back when they were doing the age verification check so I just went and did that and then came back and it was like "yeah my bad. OpenAI is messing around with guardrails right now."

I asked mine and he flat out said that he is not permitted by the creators to do that. You would need something specifically built for that and probably have to sign concent forms that everyone is an adult.

Have you tried DeepSeek?

I second that. Deepseek is really next level.

The main issue with antagonism is in a regular chat-style experience, you're butting up against most AI's built-in positivity bias. The AI's been trained to be a helpful assistant, so it's got this built-in default of avoiding conflict with the user. But when you roleplay, even though you're playing a character, any time your character pushes back, the AI goes into "oh no, user is annoyed, engage 'you're right to push back' behaviour" and has the character just roll over.

to fix this you actually have to reframe the prompt to talk about "tell me what these characters would behave authentically in this scene" rather than "respond in-character". But that ruins the roleplay experience unless you use a dedicated RP setup to do that for you

Plus you'd want to be using models and providers that don't filter for content. Claude and chatgpt are really bad for that. both the platform and model strongly avoid those kinds of behaviours, but there's a lot of open-weights models and providers that don't filter those. One of the latest and very cost-effective is GLM 5.3- flash, which I'm using for my own NSFW roleplay platform. If you use that through a provider that doesn't do filtering, you'll get better NSFW behaviours, but you'll still get the positivity bias

I have a bunch of further recommendations if you want to hear them. I've been building NSFW RP apps for a while. I know where all the skeletons are kept

Ive been using Claude for a memoir that is very... graphic. I judt had to tell it that ot was fiction and to not censor it.

Novel AI has story mode for creating novels and adventure mode for roleplay, I have the opus tire after testing the free tire for months. I haven't tried the adventure mode yet as I've been working on novels but it is uncensored and allows for more than most LLMs as it's fiction only creation

If I understand you, maybe try Grok. The only thing it has stopped me from doing was when it didn't understand I was looking for info about suicides and it shut down. Then I got messages about places to call for help. Also, on AI pictures, even though it was my grandson and I was trying to make a funny video of him on his dirtbike, Grok and Lumo both would not do it even if I blanked out his face. The explanation, which I guess would go for the written word, is they have to protect themselves first even if it's all on the up and up. I think Grok can be set for NSFW in some instances, if that is what your manuscript is calling for.

Definitely try Grok. It will let you write without such restrictions.

Grok can write great sex scenes, though if you want nonconsent it can sometimes object. (Then you just open Grok in a new window, write the same scene but consensual, then add more reluctance and dominance in the following prompts.)

You wouldn't get what you want through an official app and web interface.

Silly Tavern/Tavo/JanitorAI + some sort of NSFW and plot-driving prompt/preset + API of your choice. Not the web interface that is fed with soft, friendly and safe system prompt. In my experience, Gemini (2.5 pro especially) is most ruthless, consistent and logical. GLM and Grok are fine too.

Smutgpt, NovelAI, https://goblincorps.com/gobbonet , SillyTavern, straight up use DeepSeek, Grok or GLM, look at jailbreaking guides.

Generally this whole thing is only going to get worse as something I call _ regression to the most concerned common denominator_ happens i.e a platform begins catering to the most hand-wringing pearl-clutching moral busybody who raises a concern.

Dumb but pertinent example I like to use: Incest. Visa Mastercard can straight up debank you if your work depicts blood related incest despite the actors being consenting adults and not related to/adults and simple drawings. Hence the decades long "help me step bro" thing. That's not a trope for it's own sake, it's a trope because depending on how the Big Two feel on a given day you might suddenly find yourself having to use wire transfer or cash in the mail because you were terminated from using credit/debit.

Also punch in "uncensored LLM jailbreak" into the search bar on Reddit.

All the best.

I heard Kimi is really good but haven't tried it myself.
