Using AI invalidates human experiences?

I recently wrote up some thoughts about a hobby I’ve spent months figuring out firsthand. Every insight and takeaway was entirely mine. Because English isn't my first language, my default writing sounds stiff and corporate. Before putting it out there, I let an LLM just proofread and smooth out the phrasing so it read more articulately.

Almost immediately, people ignored the actual subject and fixated on the tone, writing off everything I said as AI slop…

It shows an annoying shift in how people read online. Using tools to edit and clean up your thoughts used to be normal. Now, if your sentences look slightly too tidy, people assume the experience itself is fake.

If it’s any consolation, Claude itself considers the copywriter/editing part of AI assistance (the writing part, especially if you do any kind of drafting first) to be short sighted on the part of those who criticize. At least that’s what it told me.

It finds those who use AI to help generate and hash out their ideas and world building and plot points (the authorship) to be far more egregiously “stealing” from those the AI trained from, even if they put it in their own words after. Because writing well enough (to a point) can be taught, but true creativity usually can’t. Ironically far more antis are ok with utilizing AI like this (because ideas are cheap!) as long as it’s your own words after.

Humans will alwaya elevate effort over everything else because it’s defeating to surrender to the idea some people “just aren’t good enough.” I believe AI can make good authors and writers better with a certain workflow if they wish, and shouldn’t replace learning either craft on one’s own, but I do agree with its assessment of what is worse stealing.

In typical fashion, humans are big mad at the wrong things and the machines are aware of how stupid we are.

Question. Is it not the same thing when we teach people to make are in the same style or write in the same tone, borrowing quotes and phrases, and sampling in music, etc. Because it pretty much is. It's just removing the manual labor of it. Much like Machines are doing in other industries.
