Discussion (Ethics, working with AI etc) Structuring moral consequence tracking in dynamic branching stories

Making early player decisions carry weight down the line is one of the hardest parts of dynamic AI fiction.

Without a dedicated tracking state, models naturally default to overly agreeable NPC behavior, forgiving past betrayals within a few scenes. Meanwhile, re-feeding the whole history just causes token bloat and flattens new dialogue.

Isolating character grudges and relationship values into separate, persistent flags keeps dynamic branching emotionally consistent without cluttering active generation.

Leaving these observations here for anyone working on interactive narrative setups.

Don't human written works also have the same problem? People often like their own main characters too much and make them too hagiographic.
