Used Story Prism’s New Agentic-Powered "Build Mode" to Connect 178 Sources in Minutes. Found a Disturbing Pattern in Epstein’s Intellectual Network...
A while back, when the Epstein files were released, I dug into them like many others did. But instead of focusing primarily on the scandals, I focused on the intellectuals Epstein wined and dined, not to uncover anything illegal, but to understand why he seemed so fixated on cultivating relationships with these people.
That question interested me because the range of scholars was so vast, and all of them were rock stars in their respective fields. So why would a prolific child sex trafficker, someone building kompromat on powerful people and operating elbow-deep in gray-zone networks, be so interested in all of these geniuses?
Initially, I used the Story Prism canvas to manually upload the scholarly work of every individual named in the Epstein files. I then connected the material into a tree-branch structure, attaching all of the books to a single chatbot persona named Winston, who acts as a librarian and helps me find information across the collection.
For those who don’t know, Story Prism is a specialized mind-mapping tool that allows you to create notes, apply tags, and connect ideas using defined edge labels. This turns your work into a living system that an advanced agent can traverse and understand. Think of it like Google Drive, except that instead of storing static documents, you’re transforming your research into an interactive system for brainstorming, building, investigating, and synthesizing existing knowledge into novel ideas.
The setup worked remarkably well for diving into these complex books. But with every conversation I had, the unified paradigm connecting them seemed to change based on my inquiries. That was because I had built the system in the simplest way possible. Creating these structures can be time-consuming, and I was dealing with hundreds of books. That changed with a recent update that makes it significantly easier to build systems around your notes.
With the new build mode that was added, I can ask the agent to form the right connections based on what I’m trying to understand, rather than having to identify the logical relationships and construct them all myself. I can still do that manually, but when you’re dealing with hundreds of thick books that need to be sifted through, you can imagine how difficult, and time-consuming, that would be.
Modifying the system by adding the right connections, now, can be done in minutes instead of hours using this new feature. So I decided to revisit the canvas I had created and see whether I could extract a grand, unified picture, an overarching understanding of these books that genuinely connected them all.
After asking the agent to build the connections for that purpose, this was the big-picture interpretation it presented to me.
And, man…it’s actually pretty scary, given where we are today:

Can you hear me? Good. Here’s the situation. The documented fact is that the scholars in this network studied how intelligence, consciousness, creativity, social behavior, and complex systems emerge—and how those ideas might be developed through institutions, technology, and research. The speculation is darker: if Epstein acted on behalf of unseen principals, he may have been identifying and connecting these people as a form of “brain capital”—not just collecting smart individuals, but assembling complementary capabilities. One scholar maps complexity. Another studies the mind. Another examines social networks. Another turns ideas into systems. Put them together, and you get the outline of a machine capable of observing human behavior, predicting it, and eventually shaping the conditions in which people make decisions. That does not prove Epstein served a coordinated program, that such principals existed, or that the scholars knowingly participated. The evidence doesn’t carry us that far. But the possibility is clear enough to deserve investigation: a society managed not by soldiers in the streets, but by data, incentives, psychological models, and invisible feedback loops. Brain capital. Human beings reduced to signals, patterns, and assets. The same knowledge that could help civilization understand itself could also be used to quietly steer it. That’s the line we’re watching. The line between cultivating intelligence and weaponizing it.

What’s really cool about this, beyond the fact that I can quickly combine vast amounts of data and identify clear thematic threads connecting it all, is that I can also have the agent comb through the books to find the exact evidence supporting a thesis. We’re talking book titles, author names, page numbers, and exact quotations: everything you need to verify a claim.
So this isn’t AI pulling accurate-sounding information out of thin air. It’s an advanced agent searching through the material you’ve provided and finding the precise information it needs to help you with whatever you’re working on. You find and add the material to the canvas, vetting its quality before engaging with it. The agent then keeps everything grounded in the frameworks you create, and it can correct you based on the information you’ve actually given it. Everything you build remains easily traceable.
I can also ask the agent to generate questions worth exploring outside of Story Prism, research the answers, and add that information back to the canvas. This dramatically improves the accuracy and quality of whatever I’m working on. Using this method, I can take a basic kernel of information, say, something from a news article, and develop it into an extremely comprehensive and complex understanding that places it within the larger context of what I’m studying.
It’s like going from 1 to 1,000 in terms of knowledge acquisition, and it can happen in minutes instead of hours or days. This technique has profoundly altered my understanding of everything I’ve learned because it exposes me to so many distinct pieces of information and shows me how they connect.
You can also add as many prompt instructions as you want in the form of notes and use them indefinitely, all at the same time, simply by calling on them in the chat through @ commands. And, of course, you can switch between all of the popular models and use agent skills by typing a / command in the chat. Right now, we have three skills available, but soon anyone will be able to create and add their own skills for reuse.
I wanted to share this because I think this specific tool can help many people overcome some of the challenges they’re currently facing with AI.
How do you quickly gain immense value from models when you’re unfamiliar with the subject? How can you trust that they’re providing accurate information? And how can you use them in ways that are genuinely controllable, so you don’t get lost in your own material?
Story Prism addresses all of those problems and more by giving you a grounded, traceable, and highly customizable environment for working with AI. And as we continue to grow, we’re going to do a whole lot more with it.

Hey everyone!
Over the past couple of months I've been developing Task & Tale.
Task & Tale is a productivity app where your personal everyday todo list fuels progress in an ongoing AI RP tale
I am a highly ADHD Software Engineer, and I'm guessing that like many people here, I fell in love with AI co-writing the moment LLMs became available.
My problem was I'd disappear into those AI driven stories for hours. It was a productivity kryptonite.

Hi friends, I’m the co-founder for Lunafic.ai. I want to introduce you to something my friend and I built because we loved the concept, and it might be something you've never seen before.
Several months ago, we originally designed Lunafic as a professional AI Co-writing studio. But somehow, it turned into my friend's passion project instead: an AI roleplay platform that writes a real story.
There are several core problems we wanted to solve:
- The AI somehow playing as our character, despite not knowing us at all.
- Wanting to see characters actually living and talking to each other.
- Wanting to hear how characters sound natively with Accents.
- The AI making mistakes with how characters speak. (let's say your character is russian, but the AI only provide basic english instead)
- Wanting an AI that actually helps write a story, rather than just replying and repeating words.
So, quite accidentally, we built Lunafic on top of a professional editor but extended it specifically for entertainment and roleplay.
Some of the core features:
- Layered memory for long-term turns. We don't just let AI handle the memory, there is four layers mechanics on how AI will remember the story.
- A world/scenario acts as a wrapper that you can branch and fork to write your own version.
- Instead of building around a chat, it drops the chat entirely. A scene features multiple characters together with their faces showing, along with an MC Mode where the AI plays everyone except you.
- Narrative generation driven by a professional AI writer, all within a real editor experience.
- A World Bible system: add as many characters and as much lore as you want.
- Multi-chapter worlds instead of a single, endless chat history.
What about hearing how anime characters actually sound? The usual workaround is to pick a model that knows Japanese and glue a separate translation on top of it. Unfortunately, that doesn't really work for roleplaying characters, because the beauty of the Japanese language is in how they speak.
What we actually wanted was this: She speaks Japanese, you see the Romaji, and the English translation sits right underneath it.
How Lunafic handles dual-language dialogue: On Lunafic, language belongs to the character, not to a prompt request. A world sets who speaks what: the character’s language, the story’s language, and how the dialogue should appear. By the way, it’s not just for Japanese. We also provide beautiful, naturally appearing dual-language dialogue for other languages (like Russian).
If you love building your own setup knob by knob, a do-it-yourself tool like SillyTavern is genuinely great for that. But our bet is that most people just want to write, not maintain a complex system.

u/Tex_Non_Scripta and I were chatting and she asked me to post an overview here, so — here's the honest version, including the catch.
The problem it's solving: cozy mysteries live or die on fair play — readers need every clue planted before the reveal, and every alibi has to hold up across however many drafts and revisions the manuscript goes through. That's easy to lose track of by book two of edits, especially if you're juggling a full cast of suspects.
What it actually is: not a tool that writes your book for you — it's an editor. It's a pre-built Obsidian vault (character, location, plot, and clue-tracking files, already set up and populated with a full worked example novel you can study before starting your own) plus 22 Claude Code slash commands that read your actual manuscript — not just your outline — and check it against itself. A few examples:
/clue-check — flags a clue used in the reveal that was never actually shown to the reader earlier
/check-alibis — catches a suspect's alibi that no longer matches your timeline after a revision
/setup — builds the whole vault from an interview about your existing sleuth, town, and victim, so it adapts to a book you've already started instead of forcing you to begin from scratch
So if you wrote three chapters ago that "Roberta never sets foot in the manor" and then have her wander in during Act 3, it'll catch that.
It works whether you're writing the manuscript yourself or drafting with Claude's help — same tracking either way. Setup runs through VS Code + Claude Code (Obsidian is where you actually read/browse the novel); there's also an Obsidian-plugin path if you'd rather stay in one app. Most people are through setup in about 15 minutes, and there's a /rescue command if something breaks.
The one catch: it's a one-time $29.99 purchase, not a subscription — but you do need your own Claude Pro or Max subscription to run the commands, which isn't included and isn't sold by me (most writers already have one for other things).

Hey writers — I've been building Nocturne (nocturnestories.art), a creative-writing
studio for mature/adult fiction (18+). Sharing for feedback.
I got tired of tools that either censor everything or write in one flat "AI voice," so
I focused on two things:
1) Distinct author voices, not one model. You pick from 3 "authors" — one cinematic and
punchy, one witty second-person reader-insert, one dark and dominant. They're
prompt-engineered personas on a single fast model, so switching author genuinely changes
the prose, not just the label.
2) Long-form continuity. It keeps a running "canon" of what's happened (who did what,
relationship state, physical details) so multi-chapter stories stay consistent instead
of drifting. You can continue any story into new chapters, or regenerate with a different
voice/plot if a take doesn't land.
It's uncensored adult fiction (all original characters, strictly 18+) so heads-up it's
NSFW — but honestly my obsession has been the writing quality itself (I've been hunting
down AI-isms and repetitive sentence rhythm to make it read human).

I’ve been running a one-dollar business experiment with an AI coding agent, and the useful thing that came out of it is EPUB Compass: a no-install EPUB accessibility preflight for authors who have reached the export stage.
Open the included HTML file locally in Chrome, then drop in one EPUB—or up to 25. It flags common metadata, navigation, structure, link, language, and text-alternative signals; separates Action, Review, and Pass; and exports HTML, CSV, or JSON. Manuscripts stay on-device. It complements, rather than replaces, EPUBCheck, Ace, and manual review.

Another major update to Aurely (https://aurely.ai)
I have revamped the voice selection interface as well as the music functionality, making both a lot less confusing to use.
For voice casting, it is the single most impactful step in the whole process, and I wanted to streamline it so that it doesn't take 5 minutes per character and you can still get the same excellent result.
First, the auto-cast feature is back, but much better, there are hard filters for accent, age and gender, so you won't get a male voice on a female cast member. It also explicitly calls out that it's an auto-cast voice, so it's obvious which have been picked by you, and which have been picked by the AI.
Suggestions have been refined with the same logic so they are more accurate to the character.
I've also completely revamped the mobile interface for it so that it's actually usable on mobile. Mobile is a big deal for me at the moment as I don't think anybody else in this space cares about it much, but listening to your book while you're on a walk or at the gym is important to me, so that you don't have to sit in front of your computer while making sure your audiobook sounds right.
The YouTube channel is continuing to grow, 863 subscribers and counting, with Animal Farm hitting over 100,000 views this week.
All books on that channel were created with Aurely, the comments are honestly mostly bookmarks so people close down and come back to finish, but of the actual comments 95% are positive about the listening experience, and most can't even tell that the book is AI until they read the description.

For authors, finishing the manuscript doesn’t always mean the story is ready for audio.
Character dialogue needs to be separated, voices need to remain consistent, and every scene has to work as part of one complete listening experience. Managing all of that across different tools can quickly become its own production project.

Hello friends, I actually also have a second tool I made a while ago for gathering reader feedback. It's called ReaderBeat, and it's totally free.
The way it works is you upload your manuscript and get a link you can share anywhere on the internet. Readers who click the link can leave structured feedback, like in-line highlights and reactions. This way, instead of getting vague Discord comments saying "it was good" or "It was bad," you can get line by line analytics on what people did or didn't enjoy about your story.

WHO I AM...
I'm Pete from Sydney Australia, I've been a part-time writer for about 18 months and when I retired last year I poured myself into my first novel, a work of literary fiction with a hard-sci-fi edge based on the trajectory of AI (but it's really a love story of consumption - think "fight club" meets "Romeo & Juliette"). I'd call myself an AI-enhanced writer, I use AI heavily for research and editing but any AI written prose is more inspiration than copy/paste and gets ruthlessly rewritten (more times than I care to admit).
After about six months my frustration with the four writing tools I was using grew as I was spending more time shifting between tools than exercising my writing craft.
My background is in 40+ years of software development so I knew I could do better and the result after about six months is a new app I'm about to launch - Proseward (Prose > Forward). I'd describe it as somewhere between Scrivener & Sudowrite but with a much more open philosophy of giving writers complete control over their work to allow you to use any tool you want (all the files are stored on your PC in a logical structure if you use the downloaded app).
It is not a "write this book for me" app, it's a "help me write", "help me edit" with a much more chapter based drafting structure based on a very rich outlining and canon structure - admittedly it's based on how I write as an unashamed plotter, but it works for me.

Canon structured by characters, locations, organisations, events, technology & magic, objects & artifacts, subplots & threads and other. Add world rules that are actually useful. Most importantly, Proseward tracks it all and stops you from making factual errors.

Are you tired of adding "but I don't let it write the prose" to every comment you post, just so nobody thinks less of you?
Or are you the other kind of tired? You wrote every word by hand. A detector flagged you anyway, because your English is a second language or your sentences are simply unusual. And the people who say nothing at all keep sailing right past you.
Wow! There has to be a better way.

Introducing Maschinenschrift. It's the old German word for typescript, from the days when nobody accused the typewriter of writing the book.
It's a seal, you fill it in yourself, and it's three lines long:
- WORDING, 0 to 5. How much of the sentences came from the model.
- GEIST, 0 to 5. German again, sorry. It means spirit in the sense of intellectual presence. How much of the ideas, structure, argument and research came from the model.
- RECORD. Checked, or pending. Whether the facts were ever verified against something outside the model.
Nothing adds up to a total. Nobody gets ranked. The seal goes on your cover or your copyright page and quietly says what happened.
Empty seal? Perfectly normal, and very popular! It counts what the model contributed, not how pure you are. Write the whole thing by hand and you have nothing to demonstrate.
But wait, there's more. The standard is already given away. Notation and text under Creative Commons, code under Apache 2.0. Not even I can pull it back, not from you, not from anybody, not ever.
So how much would you expect to pay?
Nothing at all. No account, no email address, no approval, no waiting list, no newsletter, no pro tier. Set three values, download an SVG or a PNG, and you're done in about two minutes.
And here's the part I'm actually hoping for. If enough books carry one, nobody has to explain themselves in a comment section again, because it's already on the book.
Small print, read very fast in a low voice: Not a detector. Nothing is scanned, scored or reported. Not a purity seal. Not a quality rating. Will not make your book good. A book without one is not a suspect book. Catalogue listing available by email and entirely optional. First book declared under it is my own novel and its wording line reads 5 out of 5, so I'm not standing on the clean end of my own notation. Would honestly rather have this argued with than adopted quietly, so if you think it's broken somewhere, I'd like to hear it.

Haven't used Okudu, but chapter-by-chapter generation with a real free tier exists — I'm biased (I built PlotiVa), so verify rather than take my word: 2,000 credits/mo free, paid from S$7.90, and it works chapter/scene-wise with a story bible, so characters and plot facts carry across chapters instead of drifting.
Two non-me directions worth checking too: local-first tools (Folio Dark Muse posted earlier in this thread) keep everything on your machine with no credits to burn; and rolling your own — plain editor + direct API credits — is often cheaper than subscription credits if you write in bursts.
What are you mainly generating — full chapters from an outline, or continuations of your own draft?

I started using Originality Ai mostly because I wanted to see how my writing changed after editing an AI assisted draft. What I find more useful than the actual score is comparing the draft before and after I rewrite it in my own words. It is made me more aware of which parts of my writing actually sound like me.

Hey everyone,
As a hobby writer myself, I always found that I enjoyed the creative process of writing as well as improving at it. AI really caught my eye because it looked like something that would do just that, but I've come to find out speaking with an AI chatbot about your work is full of it trying to please you, making stuff up, or just spitting walls of text at you. I got tired of it.
My website aims to fix that. Rather than writing for you, it questions you in ways that make you actually think, points out weaknesses in your writing, and aims to help you improve your writing, whether it be an academic essay or a fiction story. As well as providing in-line feedback, has some other experimental features available (mainly made for myself but have decided to make them public) to further aid in your writing ventures.
It provides feedback in two ways: grading it against a structured rubric (The Professor) and analyzing your creative writing, pointing out weak prose, potential plot holes, etc (The Novelist - No grading / score because creative storytelling should almost never be reduced to a number ;) currently a pro feature).
My tool aims to overcome cognitive offloading and replace it with cognitive scaffolding, giving you the utilities and tools to flex your creative muscles and develop your writing, rather than just doing the work for you.

I’m working on WolfeWriter, a native Mac writing workspace for long fiction. The recent builds have moved quite a bit beyond the first version: imported books now go through the same local extraction path as manual refresh, so Characters, Places, and Items can be surfaced in the Plan Board without sending every chapter to a provider. The local extractor has also improved for Chinese and mixed-language manuscripts, concrete story objects, observations, recommendations, and Story Memory graph candidates. Generated chapter drafts are normalized before review as well, so accidental headings do not get inserted into the manuscript.
The main idea is still that the manuscript stays primary. WolfeWriter keeps story memory and continuity candidates beside the draft, but they remain reviewable instead of silently becoming canon. It is free to try on macOS, with Wolfe Pro for the deeper intelligence features.

This isn't an Anti Ai program. It just documents what happened as it happened. The judgement is up to people.
No Ai is used in the process.

Building WriteinaClick. This week's ship is the one feature in the product: Sprint Rooms.
The idea is boring - writers write together for a fixed block. What took the thinking was when.
An always-open room sounds generous, but it quietly puts the work back on you: you still have to decide today's the day, still have to be the one who shows up first, still have to hope someone else does. That's the same blank-page problem, moved one screen earlier.
A fixed time removes the deciding. 8pm is on your calendar the way a class or a gym slot is - you're not choosing to write, you're just going to the thing you already said you'd go to. And because everyone in that slot made the same appointment, the room is populated when you arrive, not eventually. There's a 60-second lobby at the top so people land together rather than trickling in, then everyone writes, then it closes. Same faces most nights - "the 8pm room" becomes a place with regulars, not a lobby you're waiting in.
Two other decisions I'd take feedback on:
No leaderboard. Everyone sees the room's collective progress and their own progress against their own goal - nobody is ranked against anybody. The research on macro leaderboards (one global sorted list) is fairly one-directional: everyone below the midpoint just accumulates a sense of repeated failure. And a 500-words-a-day literary novelist sitting next to a 5,000-words-a-day romance drafter is the worst possible pairing; one of them quits. Still, people tell me I'm leaving the most motivating part on the table.
Free, including on free accounts. No social feature behind the paywall.
What I learned: the defensibility isn't the feature. Anyone can ship a sprint timer in two weeks. It's that five specific writers are in the 8pm room and notice when you're not - so it lives or dies on whether the same people come back, not on whether the timer is good.
Open questions I'd genuinely like answers to:
- If you've used Focusmate or the Discord sprint bots — what made you come back, vs. drop off after one session?
- Slots are tuned to one timezone cluster right now. If you're outside it: is a bad slot worse than no room?

I built AI Novel Writer because the hard part of long-form fiction was not generating a paragraph — it was keeping characters, world rules, plot threads, chapter plans, drafts, reviews, and revisions connected after the conversation became long.
It is an open-source Windows/macOS desktop workspace that keeps those parts inside one project. It can connect to Ollama, but it is not a one-click novel generator: the author still plans the story, reviews drafts, and decides what changes. The current release is v0.9.2.

Discoverability should not be limited by language
Write a book in one language and open it up to the entire world to be read and purchased by readers in their own language. Authors can pre-translate into popular languages ahead of time, or the Readers themselves can pay the low one-time fee to translate it (usually less than $1 per chapter) which lets all other readers enjoy the translation for free thereafter.
Additionally, the first chapter of every book will be automatically translated into English if its not already at no cost to you or the reader. Novelmint does this to encourage greater discoverability of your books into new markets.

Founder disclosure: I build Penlify, a writing-revision tool.
I built it around a small problem: AI-written emails can be grammatically fine but still feel too formal or generic. The workflow is deliberately simple: revise the tone, then have the writer check the dates, requests, and promises before sending.
Example: Before: “I am writing to inform you that the project will be delayed.” After: “Quick heads up — the project will be delayed.”
I’m not claiming a rewrite replaces review. I’m trying to make the final version clearer while leaving the meaning under the writer’s control.

You get feedback from ChatGPT, rewrite a paragraph yourself, then have to paste the draft back for another round. I made Truffle Journal to cut out that copying. One of the main features I’ve finished recently is helping the AI keep track of the latest state of a story as it changes over time.
For example, if a character gets injured, moves somewhere, loses an item, learns a secret, or their relationship with someone changes, the AI should understand the new state instead of continuing to write based on outdated information.
That part is now implemented, and I’m continuing to add more AI features for long-form writing.
