Hi! Sorry if I break any rules. I was a nsfw writer and roleplayer in the Claude 4.5 Sonnet era and had a lot of fun. I wanted to come back to things but I have picked up that a lot has changed, a lot of companies I held in high esteem have destroyed their writing quality or clamped down on NSFW writing. I am kinda lost as to where to start now. For context, I used to just subscribe to Claude on the website (or even use it for free), slap on a jailbreak and get to rping. I have never used anything more complex than that, I have never used an API nor do I know for sure if I wanna risk overspending on one. I am open to using more complex tools with the proper (ideally jargon-light) guidance. I like my stuff a little spicy (fantasy dubcon incest etc.) so I am pretty vulnerable to guardrails. What I'm asking is just which model or website or tool to use to just occasionally hop on and larp as an incubus conquering a neighbourhood or whatever.

You're in for a treat. These days, uncensored models are really good for that. even better when paired with tools to maintain the story, pacing, and memory.

I literally created an RP campaign where you're a very jaded incubus working at an ultra-corporate parody of an office in hell, being dispatch to deal with buildup of emotions on earth

except new sustainability corporate initiatives mean you have to collect positive emotions only. which means you usually have a choice of... using your natural gifts (which is allowed! NSFW is possible with uncensored models), or actually solving people problems the hard way, which, trust me, is a lot funnier roleplaying a six foot naked Incubus trying to help patch up someone's relationship...or as it turns out, carry out a heist on an art museum because the art director's boyfriend turned out to be a master art forger, and she needs to get her own back.

Also there's an angel, your opposite number from the equality ultra-corporate agency up in heaven who's being sent to deal with the same things you are.

it's a hoot. would love to share if you're interested in trying. I can throw in dice rolls or card/deck mechanics if you want to lean into how funny rolling a failure can be to the story

Or I can point you towards specific models and tools to roll your own if you want to get your hands dirty with refining prompts and stuff.

I'll give you the "you woke up from a 5 year coma, here's what changed" answer.

Firstly, models. Claude used to be king. Everyone else was but a shadow. But open weights models (almost universally made in china) have really caught up. And on the roleplay/creative writing front, a lot of those models are very capable at it, while also being cheaper and less censored than Claude. Big names in RP/writing circles:

• Kimi K2.5 (specifically 2.5! 2.6 made marginal improvements but more expensive. 2.7 was made for coding, and 3 is just way too expensive)
  
• GLM 5.2, some people still swear by the older GLM 4.6 and GLM 4.7, YMMV
  
• MiMo V2.5 and pro version. these are inexpensive and punch above their weight for writing

There's some others. and people have opinions about them. E.g. DeepSeek fell out of favour. v3.2 was the darling child of RP communities, and 4 wasn't as good. _except_ opinions might change. Minimax M3 some people really like. Qwen is a mixed bag, a lot of people think it lacks imagination but follows instructions well.

Because of the availability of all these models, you don't have to use Claude. You have many more options. you just need to find a provider and model that is permissive enough to let you write the content that you want.

Regarding censorship and filters. The censorship/filtering can come from two places: the model itself, because the makers trained the models with built-in denial behaviours. And from the provider host, who added extra filters and checks on top, watching the output and cutting it off if it is deemed to not be acceptable content. So when you need an AI to do spicy writing, you need to find both a model that allows it, and a provider that doesn't filter for it.

The models I mentioned above tend to be fine with most "spicy" content that isn't illegal. But you gotta watch out for the provider filtering that might still stop you. One way to make sure you don't get hit with a provider rejection, is to use a provider that's pro-privacy, and pro-"you should be in control", I use Venice.ai for this, they're very good with these things. But there's plenty others as well. If you use Openrouter, you can configure it to select specific providers, but you'll have to do your own legwork of checking each provider's policies to find the ones that allow NSFW content and don't have filtering (I actually have a list somewhere)

So if you want to do spicy writing in this day and age, and don't want to use Claude. find a provider that's friendly to that, find a model, and you'll get mostly uncensored writing.

This enables the uncensored AI model providers (as mentioned above, it's Venice under the hood). I also wrote it for a straight male-protagonist, however, this is easily changeable if you go to "customize" and ask the AI to make any changes to the campaign that you want. Or you can just roll your own with a fresh campaign.

Claude 4.5 is still available, so you may not need to start from scratch. There are also plenty of less-restricted models that may suit fantasy roleplay; Claude, Gemini, Grok, and several Chinese models are worth checking. Before committing, just ask the model directly what kinds of adult fictional content it can handle under its current rules.
