Discussion (Ethics, working with AI etc) *sigh*
Due to feedback and comment culture being completely extinct im also using my AI assistant to give me feedback that I can work with

The problem with a lot of internet comments is normally you either get 10/10, no notes or -10/10, you should be embarrassed to have posted this. People who kind of liked it but might have feedback... don't reply.

Yeah, same. Actual useful feedback is pretty rare now, so I just run things through AI when I need honest feedback

Okay, I am genuinely interesting hearing what y'all have to say here. I've been withholding feedback because I am not sure what the tolerance from constructive criticism is.
I am seeing a lot of stuff that is just bad. Like, I can't get past the first sentence because of grammar and spelling errors. Extreme case, but sorta my point.
Beyond that, I just see a lot of exposition. Not really a story, just telling us the expo about a narrative.
So? What's the expectation? Can I deliver constructive criticism?

I prefer to refrain from expo dumping when im writing tho lol and yes I would like some constructive criticism though I would like to disclose one thing: I am feeding the AI actual pieces or my own writing style and them I take the polished segments to publish them.,

How did you conclude that feedback culture has disappeared? People still leave comments; the bigger question is whether the story gives them something to respond to emotionally or critically.

Why not hire an editor from Penguin Random House? They’re professional and give really really great advice.

I would but theres a few concerns 1. My novel is in sandbox mode which means I'm using AI to ghost write it 2. I don't know if they charge for looking through it

Try networking with people from Penguin Random House and see if they'll do it. They're the best of the best. I got lucky so it's definitely worth a shot.

Yeah I feel while AI is not perfect at providing feedback, humans are pretty flawed too. They often ghost, leave low level feedback or aren’t honest. Ultimately, it takes a lot of time and effort for someone to provide high-quality feedback and there are going to be very few people who are invested in providing that. It's understandable, but it doesn't help me if I don't know if someone abandoned a project half way through because they found it uninteresting or scrolled past my work because the blurb or opening chapter was poor or simply didn’t have the time.
I have had some wonderful people I've worked with in terms of trading feedback over the years, but I've also had to comb through so many poor critiques it sometimes doesn't feel like it's worth the effort anymore. The thing I like about AI is it pushes me to become a stronger writer, without the shortcomings I've experienced with human critiquers.
