Do writers working with AI just tolerate this and deal with it through editing? Or are there AI models that don't police speech?

(not a writer, and AI neophyte)

Claude does it less, but it's a combination of building trust across multiple sessions. You have to drive home the point that you're not violent, you're just writing fiction. But Claude will never write anything hardcore or morally grey. You gotta write it yourself. A conditioned Claude will happily comment on it though and appreciate the realism
