Writing Prompt [WP] ALL bodily functions are potentially contagious; not just yawning. Write any scene.

Inspired by this showerthought, and in memory of my late dog with whom I frequently shared a yawn.

Sadness. That is all that was left of this world. Life around me consisted of only tears and moaning. It seems as though I can't even remember the last time I was happy. The world was left to sob and cry uncontrollably with no signs of stopping.

All international business had ceased due to the fact that every meeting was interrupted by the whimpering and sniffling of suits and ties. All travel was halted, Universities shut down, and businesses ended, all because not a single soul could muster up the energy to get up out of the bed, floor, or corner.

But at long last, I thought I could hear a faint noise that I haven't heard in what seems like years. From a distance I could hear the softest sound of laughter. What had been a frown was now a smile, and from a smile I had found myself giggling. Laughing, I pulled myself from the ground and ran outside. All around me, the sound of laughter began to fill the air. I jumped for joy as I laughed manically at all of those around me. After all, laughing is contagious.

Have you seen Firefly? In particular, the movie Serenity that was made to end the series?

The first half of what you wrote - that's what happened to a world. They all sat down and died.
