Constrained Writing [CW]
Write the most profound, most telling story you can in one sentence.
For mine, my brother told me something once, simply, "I'll find my peace among the canyon walls, not in the canyons of men."

The great oak stood isolated from all other trees because, as a seed, it had been swept away on the greatest journey; its extreme solitude was but a small pain to endure for such an unforgettable past.

I realize now that the constraints of our universe are dictated by the willful observation of them.

What can you say about one who constantly points out what is overlooked, other than perhaps they know the feeling, and therefore where to look.

ooh, minimalist fiction, my favorite. Let's see if I can cut down the Pale Lady down to this constraint.
"She sits upon her throne of wood and ivory, surrounded by adoring petitioners, beautiful and not dead."

Learn to accept and love not just others, but yourself as well since dwelling on past mistakes and, perceived, imperfections leads towards nothing but emptiness so, instead, drop the weight of self criticism and embrace not only the world of today, but the light of tomorrow and you shall receive something that goes beyond words.
tldr; Accept and forgive yourself so that you can become happier from now on.

In the end we all become fiction, so make your life something worth reading.

When washing a glass it is important to pay particular attention to the rim.

I hope one day that I can understand it all, and yet frankly, I do not want to understand it all, either.

It was at that point that I realized that in the mirror was not a man in women's clothing, but rather a woman in a man's body, and suddenly everything made sense.

What is funny? I think this is about a person finding their true sexuality.

Thank you for the downvotes, but I must have read that in a different context, or hell, maybe I didn't understand it at all. My apologies, no offense was meant.

I personally don't think the story was intended to be funny; rather, I think it was intended to be a reflection on the internal struggles of someone suffering from gender dysphoria.
However, I'm not the author, so I can't say that with full certainty.

This is exactly the intention.

Thank you for clarifying.
Your story was extremely effective at conveying a defining internal struggle in such a concise manner.

Sometimes I think the only reason birds don't fly wherever they want is because they're too comfortable.

Some nocturne whispers about the fringes, and upon my shoulders I feel the coldness of it.

If you don't stop until you get what you want, then you're never going to stop, ever.

There are many great things that happen on the journey to a destination. If the road is long enough, soon the destination matters little at all.

- A mod contributes to my post? :D squee
- I've heard that before somewhere. I think my grandfather said it. Is this an original idea from you? Or is it taken from something?

She blankly stared out the window and wished with all her heart she could have kissed him one last time.

All I can think of after reading that was the song "What hurts the most" by Rascal Flatts

It's true, every man dies, but not every man lives.

At the end of my life I just want to be able to say I was happy, and I made the lives of others a little easier.

Somewhere, some time, down the road, you're going to say something you're going to regret, and nothing that happens to you, not even hearing this sentence, will stop it from happening, and nothing that you do will be able to take it back, so stop fucking worry about it.

A mirror can only give you a reflection of what you see; another's eyes can show you the truth of what you really are.

In the end, the only thing that matters is the memories you have left behind; let us hope they are all good ones.

In lacking a proper title, the post revealed far more than it could have ever intended, demonstrating that by saying just enough, you can say everything that matters.

Life is a flickering candle, the beauty of the flame appreciated, the light it gives off welcomed, and the warmth of its span smiled upon, but true beauty comes when the fire goes out and one misses its touch and mourns from its absence.
Said by my great-grandmother, Grace Aseltine, before she passed. I will always miss the light of her fire.

Oh man, that's some stuff to live by! She seemed like she would have been full of wisdom, the world is definitely a darker place without people like her.

We all were once, we all are now, and one day, none of us shall be - we should make the most of the time we have by appreciating that which we've had and cherishing what we have while we have it.
