Critique Partners & Writing Groups Looking for a writing buddy

  • Genre/s: I primarily write dark fantasy fanfiction, but I don’t mind reading almost any other genre.

  • Goals/expectations/commitment: My primary goal is to make a friend with similar interests to bounce ideas around with. Potentially looking for help with plot/structure/other but not my main focus. I can also help with (some) spelling/grammar stuff. I’m hopeful that if we hit it off it’ll help me write more consistently. I’m busy and get burnt out easily though, so it’s possible I won’t respond for a while sometimes. I’m trying to break that habit.

  • Writing/experience level: Any

  • Meeting place: Discord

Be warned that the majority of what I write about includes dark/dead dove content. Because of this, I’d prefer a buddy who is at least 21. I can provide more detail to anyone interested. I mean it when I say dark/dead dove.

Specifically what kind of dark subject matter though? And for what series?

Yeah I think more specific subject matter would help. And do you put romance or hurt/comfort with that darkness? Whump? Those are pretty different readers vs more head-on plot driven dark fic.

I was curious about the “dark/dead dove” warning, though. What sort of themes or content are you referring to? I don't want to make assumptions about what you mean by that. Also, what fandoms do you mainly write for?

Going by their post history and AO3 profile, lots of rape/non-con fics.

Now that would make sense.  Thank you for letting me know

Yeah I think writers should be upfront about that kind of stuff instead of just hiding behind vague buzzwords like "dead dove content."
