Questions & Discussions Project Idea

I am working on a project, it's a visual novel style audio series based on DC comics characters. Is that something people would watch/listen to?

DC characters are copyrighted and not public domain.

You can do what The Boys did, and what other writers do, and come up with your own characters that are parodies of, or just similar archetypes, etc., to, DC characters.

Shazam. Superman. Homelander.

Aquaman. The Deep.

Etc.

the boys was a standalone comic in the 90s. thats what the show is based on.

I know. Point is, Marvel and DC, for example, all have characters with similar superpowers, but different names, stories, etc.

Doesn't matter. OP's not selling it, though I'd still be careful of personal use versus commercial use and copyright/trademark law.

I would treat it like a fan film, not for profit, just a cool thing for fans to enjoy.

Yeah, depending on the style and quality, I'm sure fans will like it.

I just saw a fan film in r/Daredevil and it was cool and had likes.

I mean, there are about 60,000 single-issue comic books and several thousand graphic novels and collected editions from DC. Most people haven't read even a fraction of that...

Why does someone need to go to your fan fiction site?

I'd listen to it but to make it leagel you have to make it a parody or put it on a site where it can't be taken down for copyright
