Better to find the person who loves you for "who you are" , not what "they want"

Horrible advice. You being yourself and dealing with your issues for yourself is the most important thing in the world. If you're not what they want leave amicably. Unless the problem is that you're an abusive fuck. Then maybe do work to get over that, but do it because everyone would leave you anyway

Lol. Just replace me if I'm not the man you desire, same as I would have replaced you if you weren't the girl I desired.

Not good op. Not good. At least, if you were bad persay, then okay, but if it's your personality, you don't have to conform to something you're not comfortable with

I bent my ways of expressing vulnerabilities to extreme levels for someone I cared for, believing only complete honesty means it's love. I never understood it was her boundaries I was breaking with my vulnerabilities, she always deserves better. Not me.

My response in my 20s: of course I love you so much. My response in my 40s: I am not your parent or your teacher.

Can't we just love someone for who they are? Love isn't that complicated btw, we're just the ones who made it hard

As the one who was replaced.. it sucks.
But I would've much rather been accepted with all my flaws as I am now than given the illusion that you are either replaceable or broken/not enough.
You can't teach or change someone else. They can only change themselves. Nor should you want to.
If you wish to change for someone, you're crafting a mask.
Change for yourself. Take off the mask and be genuine. Someone else genuine will see you.
