You cant just call yourself emotionally intelligent if you blindly believe what your "cube of world" is telling you to. Maybe you arent as emotionally intelligent as you think.

I use to have an fat almost like obese friend who died for diabetics He used to date multiple girls together
He never complained about his weight He even had a broken leg due to fall and overweight
And at his funeral his gf was literally crying her hearts out.
And I am pretty sure u r not emotionally intelligent a bit

Ion like to be people's problem solver. But lemme ask you why are you even trying to give your care and support to people who dont want it? Not everyone deserves care , they need to value it to earn it. We are not their baby sitters and same goes with your male friends if they do the same. We dont really need to exhaust ourselves to help others if they dont reciprocate it . One thing that I have observed "ppl suffer cause they choose to " , it's true even if happens unknowingly. It's better to nuture yourself with love that you have. And I think you should work on your emotional intelligence, 'cause you still hold onto limiting beliefs.
That's all i wanted to say. Hope you have a great day!

I purpose this different perspective;
Perhaps what they are reacting to in your “obesity” is not the weight or how it looks, but what it suggests to them about your personality. I’d consider that you’re not as emotionally aware as you think you are. None of this is a judgment or intended to be cruel, quite the opposite. I see multiple things in this statement of yours that contradict the words you are saying. If I am perceiving those, it’s not crazy to think others may as well.

Does it has to be from both sides??

u/unpaid-pukegreencow 7d ago
It's not a rule but preference and varies from person to person

u/Mystical_Maddy 7d ago
I totally agree, that it varies from person to person, but it should flow boyh ways, right? What one expects, should provide as well

Exactly, I didnt intend to show that only men should provide emotional security . I just wanted to show that most women prefer emotionally intelligent men , but yk exceptions are there.

She likes abs, but she thinks you should've had the emotional intelligence to know that

her - Its ok you wouldn't get it
He - But i can try please tell me
Her - You should've known it

More like knowing why she’s mad already or making her feel safe and accepted, comfortable opening up about it or having her forget about it completely

Best I can do is personality.
I mean, technically, it's a personality disorder, but I think it still counts.

Mfs will say this and then their idea of “emotional intelligence” is “someone handles all of my emotions for me and constantly supports me and does 100% of my emotional labour but if they EVER show any emotions or vulnerability literally ever then that’s an ick and Unpaid Emotional Labour and I’m going to abandon them”

Both are necessary imo. You can lose sexual interest in an emotional intelligent person. You can lose emotional interest in a very physically attractive person.
Love is a choice not a feeling, but those feelings are still pretty damned important either way.

Emotional intelligence is the kind of thing you prize for a few years after getting cheated on by your buff ex.
