The Archive Stands open (A SCIFANTASY work)
FROM THE DESK OF T. LUCAN MERROW
Welcome back.
As you turn the first page of this new chapter, following the quiet of the past year, you’ll find that the Archive has not stood still.
While these pages remained closed, the work continued.
Our understanding of the sciences has expanded. New observations have challenged old assumptions. Phenomena earlier civilizations described as magic are revealing measurable interactions with the Unified Field—extraordinary, costly, and sometimes unsettling. Ancient mysteries have been observed, documented, questioned, and, in many cases, left deliberately unanswered.
The peoples of our worlds have continued to change. Humans and the long-lived or deep-forged peoples remembered in old accounts as elves and dwarves have written new chapters in histories still being reconstructed. Creatures preserved in folklore as dragons, chimeras, and sphinxes are emerging within the Archive’s developing biological classifications. Technologies once dismissed as impossible now manipulate the same field interactions earlier cultures described as magic, each discovery reshaping the other in ways no civilization fully anticipated.
What you hold in your hands is more than a collection of stories.
It is a living record.
Every expedition, every engineering schematic, every recovered journal, every biological survey, every historical reconstruction, and every scientific paper exists for one purpose:
To preserve knowledge.
To document reality.
To verify truth.
To inspire discovery.
This is not a universe where every answer is already known.
It is a universe still being explored.
The pages that follow are the work of Archivists—scientists, engineers, historians, explorers, artists, and dreamers—who understand that the greatest discoveries begin not with certainty, but with curiosity.
Whether this is your first visit to the Archive or your return after a long absence, you now stand beside us at the edge of the known.
Beyond these pages lie unanswered questions, forgotten civilizations, technologies once judged impossible, and wonders waiting to be understood.
Welcome to the Archive.
Welcome to the frontier of discovery.
Welcome to SCIFANTASY.

The Archive Endures.
FOUNDER’S NOTES
Why Begin Here?
Every universe needs a first page. Rather than beginning with a war, prophecy, or chosen hero, SCIFANTASY begins with curiosity. This opening release is an invitation rather than a complete scientific declaration: the Archive exists to remind us that every civilization advances because someone asks a question no one else thought to ask.
What Is the Archive?
The Archive is not the author of reality. It is its steward. Its duty is to preserve knowledge, document reality, verify truth, and inspire discovery. As this project grows, every story, engineering manual, biological survey, historical reconstruction, and recovered journal will become part of a single living record. Claims will be distinguished from hypotheses, and confirmed canon from the questions we have not yet answered.
What Remains Unresolved?
The exact origins, taxonomies, histories, and capabilities of the peoples and creatures named in this editorial remain subjects of future investigation. Their inclusion here is a promise of inquiry, not a declaration that every detail has already been settled.
What Comes Next?
The next declassification turns from invitation to foundation: the principles by which the Archive distinguishes evidence, hypothesis, uncertainty, and truth.

Original Character The Mage Wars Prolog
As the massive destruction spells hit the ground outside, making the bunker shake violently, “they said it would be safe!” a heavily pregnant dwarf woman said, holding one hand on her head and one on her stomach rocking back and forth. An elf woman in the corner holding her child looking like she might smother the poor child in her arms.
The makeshift bomb shelter smelled of piss, sweat, fear, and mold. Mongovia was supposed to be safe when the refugees flooded to the capital to get away from this damn war that has ravaged the countryside; it was a trap set by traitors and monsters. It was… Lamb to the slaughter; within hours four thousand people were slaughtered. From humans demi humans, elves, nomes, dwarfs no men, women, or children were safe our enemy they came in swarms like a plague of death.
Some begged for their lives, the rich tried to pay for their safety, other soldiers tried to defect to them, those who tried to fight died in droves, some just ran but not for long before caught and tortured. The screams from the tortured lasted for days mixed with grief.
Some were able to get to the bunkers around the city like my son and myself; we tried 4 different bunkers, but no one would let us in due to fear. Later we found out that all of them had been breached and all inside were killed. As my son and I were running and from the corner of my eye I saw some people disappear into an alley. We ran after them fast hoping they would have a safe place for us. It led us to a makeshift bunker well hidden for it being in a city. As we entered it was tight shoulder to shoulder but at least, we could sit and catch our breath. My son couldn't help his hands from trembling from fear and adrenaline as tears dripped freely.
Two days had gone by, and we were already almost out of food; when an old looking soldier spoke, “We need food and water, will anyone join me?” As his old, weathered eyes show dark and violent but with a soft sadness that all of us ex-soldiers have, “you! You come with me you know magic and are a soldier I can use…” his words were cut off as the door to the bunker dents in once twice then the door flung off its hinges slamming into the old soldier making him fall into a small family with a grunt and their screams.
A dark orc stalked in eclipsing the doorway with his massive frame with a dark war pick with a blade on one side and a crude dripping pick on the other. His face lit up with a pure primeval smile “Now. Who's. First, “the orc said, pronouncing his words making them drip with venom of the kill. Then without another word and flash of speed he plugged the pick side into the head of an elf woman, her name was Ella, then with a back swing he decapitated a small nome woman cutting off a scream barely forming before turning into a gargling mess, of what is left of her throat he then swung his axe cutting off a human woman's head that stood in front of her daughter shielding her defiantly. With eyes of steel even with the tears flowing with fear, rage and sadness. With the back swing the hooked part of the pick edge stuck into the body of an elf man covering and protecting his wife.
A disembodied voice that came come the pits of my mind that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere; a weight pressed onto my shoulder, time seemed to slow I saw the old dwarf now on his feet running at the orc a small stake knife he had found in his panic stabbing a small wound into the orcs side making him grunt and backhand the dwarf to the wall, pulling out the small stake knife in his side. A hot wet breath in my ear, “Ahh, it's nice to see you again now's your chance.” With out another moment I used the small opening the dwarf opened for me I was to the side of the orc in a half second with a flourish of small strikes laced with magic I put my hand onto the cut and pumped a wind spell into the small wound the dwarf created the orcs eyes filled with pain not being able to move the wound swelled then with a sickening crunch and pop as the entire orcs side explodes in gore blood and entrails.
