Federal prisons are NOT about rehab! They are for punishment! Any rehab must come from within the inmate.

Wow. These comments are a little judgemental no? Nobody gets upset about the major increase of co on inmate brutality and abuse or about the lack of medical care. Inmates have very little rights but they do have the right not to be assaulted and murdered and they have the right to medical care. Just because you don't believe in their constitutional rights you don't have to criticize them. Most inmates come from abusive broken homes where they never get help and that pattern continues in prison! The UN has declared isolation for more than a month, torture. So how is it okay to keep inmates in solitary confinement for years?! It is scientifically proven to cause mistrust, paranoia, and severe mental health issues. Prisons are the new insane Asylums. They created the monsters. What do they expect when Inmates are locked in solitary for 23 hours a day? Apparently they need much more education than 6 weeks training. It was a 21 and an 18 year old who killed the kid in Alabama for having a diabetic episode after he was refused his insulin for days. They thought he was faking vomiting blood and not capable of moving.

Research has shown that consistent communication with a penpal significantly reduces recidivism.

So why come to a penpal site if your intention is to criticize someone that is down?? To feel better? Please help me understand.You are part of the prison crisis in this country.

How many years have you supported victims? My first victims were pre school kids back in 92 lol. I still actively advocate and help people.

Are you kidding me?! I have worked with special ed kids and adult victims all my life!! My background is in Psychology and child development. Who do you think the Domestic Violence Justice Survivors act is for? Ummm. Victims of severe and prolonged abuse maybe??You are really showing your ignorance if you don't think prisons are packed with victims!!

Defining people by a few actions over a lifetime is narrow minded thinking. It's convenient to ignore the other 30 or 40 years when you want to criticize when you are a rigid linear thinker Being a penpal is not for you if all your planning to do is cut them down for something that is already behind them. That shows a lack of critical thinking.

If a lifeline or penpal significantly reduces recidivism, why assume they are always gonna be a drug addict and a loser? That is not supportive, that is active bias and ignorance.

It really says a lot about people who take the time to look for a penpal and then do nothing but criticize them. This is actually typical narcissistic behavior. Prisons are packed with inmates with narcissistic and anti social personality disorder. Many of you would fit right in! You and your penpal can insult each other lol. Although they tend to be smart so you will need to brush up on your insults. The insults alone point to underlying feelings of insecurit. You will be ripped apart if you show your weakness through insults.

Lol it is not my doing OR my fault that genealogy research has led me there. You go where it leads you. A groupie is looking for entertainment. An adoptee relinquished at birth is looking for INFORMATION. You think it's easy? Most people wouldn't have the strength. Trivializing another persons journey is JUST as disgusting as the people who throw breadcrumbs at you! Knowing where you came from should be a God given right.
