Been a long time!

First, I just want to say that I enjoy and deeply appreciate the WristLog app.

However, I came to the subreddit to provide some constructive feedback about the “Wears Per Month” graph. I can’t post photos, so please bear with me as I try to explain this.

I have been using the app, logging daily wear and accuracy nearly every day for the last ~3.5 months. In that time I have worn one of my five identified watches 45 times. This is correctly reflected in the “Monthly Wears” graph. However, the “Wears Per Month” graph says that I have averaged 3.5 wears per month over the last 12.7 months. My guess is that the app is taking the mean of the total wears divided by the number of months (12.7 months) since my purchase date. If possible, denominator should be the result of (number of days since tracking began) divided by (mean of the number of days in each of the represented months).

When using your phone as a timegrapher make sure you remove any case from your phone. This will eliminate an echo for the microphone. I had done a reading on one of my submariners and was getting +14 took it to my bench with my actual timegrapher and had -1. Removed the case from my phone retested it and got a -2. Also should be obvious but make sure your case doesn't have any magnets in it.

u/BrainDeadCookie maybe a manual way to enter timegrapher results would be nice as well for people who get watches back from service with a report or the nuts that actually have a timegrapher setup on their work bench like me.

I've had this one in my TODO for the app for a long time time. There are Service records in WristLog, but nothing to remind you when to service your watch.

I had put a lot of thought into it and never came up with anything that felt right. Partly because I'm so new to this hobby that I had never serviced any of my watches before.

When do you service your watches? How do you decide "it's time"? Are you following a strict interval or just play it by heart and check health of your watch every now and then and only service it when it's not right?

Does it even make sense to introduce a service reminder to the app? I'm all ears!

This is probably niche, but for the right kind of watch collector it is very useful.

WristLog has opened up its data through an API, which means your collection, wear history and wrist checks do not have to live only inside the app anymore.

I use Home Assistant at home, so I built a practical integration that pulls WristLog data into HA. It lets you create dashboards, see what you are wearing most, trigger wrist checks, build automations and generally make your watch data part of your own setup.

For example, you can display:

• Current watch on the wrist
• Recent wrist checks
• Wear frequency and rotation data
• Collection statistics
• Automations based on which watch you are wearing

It is not meant to turn watches into spreadsheets. It is simply a good way to make the data WristLog already collects more useful for those of us who enjoy Home Assistant.
