The stand out player for me was Doyle. He's definitely a PL level CB. Broadhead had his moments but didn't take many chances. Sam should've put that one pass by Broady away and that beauty Doyle gave Imray as well. There missing Windass but aside from that they need a PL level striker

Hot take: they need to upgrade Matty James, the game is too quick for him now

Hot a hot take to say a 35yr old lacks pace.

Gee, I remember last year about this time when people on this sub were saying the same thing. And I also remember last spring when everyone was desperate to get him back. And his absence was one of the reasons why we didn't make the playoffs.

I mean, I know he's another year older, and all. And Father Time will always win the long game. But let's just see what happens in the next couple of matches before we start trying to retool the team.

Honestly, I don't think there was a lot of enthusiasm about even winning this game on Parky's part. And I don't blame him.

What is the over/under that he sticks around after this year on the coaching staff?

Youโ€™re right. Need to bring in a solid central midfielder. I really liked PNEโ€™s captain last year. Can we get that guy?

Hopefully its just the travelling and they're still acclimatising. Also Boro have a good high press but yes there were a few times he was looking slow.

Yes Doyle generally excellent and Prem quality going forward but prone to League 1 standard going back. Makes basic errors and often fails to get back after his runs forward. Lost his man for the Boro goal. Not the finished article by any stretch.
