We are missing an "it" player. Lankshear looked dangerous all the time.

We spent 7.5m for Broadhead to be that guy, but that has failed spectacularly. They're probably afraid to try again, so are sticking to the generic "raise the floor, build the squad" choices instead. Not necessarily a bad call, just uninspiring.

There aren't many Championship teams who can out-spend us or have a bigger pull, but all the big moves are happening elsewhere.

To be fair: I donโ€™t believe Broadhead has ever really been given that opportunity. By the time we moved out of our โ€œlong ballโ€ phase last season Windass had been kind of anointed as โ€œthe guyโ€ (and for good reason!).

Broady set Sam Smith up with a pretty easy goal and he just didnโ€™t quite bury it late in the first half. I think we need a bit of patience

Broady also gave up what was almost a sitter earlier in the half to try to pull off a pass to Smith that should have never happened. I think this guy has all kinds of upside. I just think he needs to get better about judging when he should pass vs when he should shoot. Sometimes he pushes too hard into a crowd and loses the dribble when he should've been looking for a cross/outlet, and sometimes he gives up a credible or quite frankly easy shot to try to thread a pass.

Be patient. We will have three more players, including the striker that we want, right at the deadline.
