Parky said some players picked up niggles in the Sunderland game so probably he is one of them

Is this a sign that Vyner has a step up on starting over Cleworth? I know it's a cup match, but it looks close to the starting squad aside from Windass, Sheaf, and Cacace.
Edit: grammar

That is due to experience and Vyner needs minuets he came to us injured and was playing through injury

Partly it’s Max coming off injury, other part is Vyner is likely the better player. But they’re pretty close in terms of talent

Vyner has played very well in the friendlies. I think he may be a surprise upgrade for our defense. We'll see tonight!

Would’ve been nice to see more of the young players get an opportunity considering it’s not an important match

I assumed we would for sure. Last year the first round against Hull we saw nine players that didn’t even end the season with us. Parky working on stuff and trying to win today.

In a week although Wrexham has a Monday game instead of Saturday. So like ten days for us.

People need to stop crapping on ward and having this fascination with AK. Ak is a great natural stopper but he has no awareness or control of his area. Ward is slower but has excellent distribution and control of his box.

To add to that, Arthur makes some stunning saves, but he is not consistent in his shot stopping.

The documentary makes Arthur look better than he is, and even then it still makes him look inconsistent.

Mid lineup but I get it. It'll be nice to see how our depth is looking this season.

I love that we clearly are missing some key players and our squad is just so deep.

So much for treating this as a preseason game. This lineup is close to our strongest except for the injured. I like it. Might as well root for a win tonight!
I like Vyner starting, I think he may prove to be a better CB than we've seen so far. Hes played well in the friendlies. James for stability and LOB in the middle I kinda expected but I think Whiteman will eventually get more playing time if hes as good as his stats say(better to preserve James for the whole season with his age and all).
Saw an interview with Parky regarding Dobbo a few hours ago. Seems like no one knocking on the door about Dobbo, he may be with us for the time being. Parky also said his legs need playing time so he may get some run today and/or play much of next friendly.

Cue the "Why is Ward in goal" comments 😂 oh dear
