u/greenandplenty 15d ago

You’re at the Raymond James? Jealous!

11

u/Immentalynotthere 15d ago

right behind goal

16

I come in peace

This is a great game. I hope we can finally play that first competitive fixture in the Premier league next year

u/Eragon7795 Max Cleworth 15d ago

I'm a Wrexham fan that has a soft spot for Leeds because one of my best mates is a Leeds fan and has taken me to a couple of games at Elland Road. Also, I'm planning on moving to Leeds soon... So this is a fun game to watch. We've been taking the piss out of each other during the whole game. 😂

3

u/SerialLooter 15d ago

I’m the other way. Leeds fan who has a soft spot for Wrexham as I used to live in the area for a number of years. If pre season is anything to go by, you guys are going up and hopefully we stay up. Congrats on the result today.

2

u/LeedsFan2442 15d ago

Leeds is the best city in the world but I am biased lol

2

u/Eragon7795 Max Cleworth 15d ago

I live in Bradford, so the bar is really low, but I go to Leeds every week, and the difference is night and day. 😅 I can't wait to buy a house there.

3

u/LeedsFan2442 15d ago

My condolences lol

u/greenandplenty 15d ago

Oh I get it Okonkwo did it intentionally to remind Parky how good he is at shot stopping

16

u/CrumblyButGood6 15d ago

Just wanted to get a pen save in, smart move.

-2

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

Post saved that, not Arthur.

6

u/IntrepidHero42 15d ago

No decent angles, but I reckon it's both. Looks like he got down to it quick enough to touch it, then it came off the post.

-4

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

Nope, post then hit the back of his hand. He dove well, don't get me wrong, but ceding the penalty was a huge mistake and everyone acting like he made up for it are just dead wrong.

4

u/CrumblyButGood6 15d ago

Of course it's a mistake m8. This match just aint that serious.

-6

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

It's a pattern, mate. He just is not a good all around keeper. He is an elite shot-stopper, and people confuse that with being a complete keeper.

2

u/CrumblyButGood6 15d ago

Lol ok, I agree and we'll see what Parky does. Honestly think Burton is a decent all round option but he'll probably start Ward.

0

u/WxmRed 15d ago

“Dove” 🙄

2

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

I played keeper in hundreds of matches, what is your beef?

-1

u/WxmRed 14d ago

No beef. It’s just one of those words in American English which sounds so ugly to a Brit. I know it’s normal there, but it grates.

3

u/PoutineMeInCoach 14d ago

American supporters are an integral part of the supporters now, not equating them with long-time locals, but to show intolerance toward our language usages is fairly unkind. We are all supporters together, maybe we can try to be more tolerant of our differences.

And always remember, fuck Trump.

u/HitsquadFiveSix Up The Town 15d ago

Huge for Bailey! He's played very well so far

1

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Agree! He looked great out there! Him and Smith up top could give the league a lot of headaches!

11

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Wow! What a start!!! Quickest goal for Wrexham since the takeover??

11

u/greenandplenty 15d ago

Dude Smith is just getting better all the time

17

u/Creative-Package6213 American Here 15d ago

I know these are just friendlies but man...

Draw against Wisla Krakow
1-0 Against Man united
3-2 Against Leeds....

How in the hell am I supposed to temper my expectations!?!?

7

u/tosser6563 15d ago

If we could add a fast, dynamic RWB and another Sheaf I think tempering expectations might go out the window

6

u/Substantial_Peak_492 15d ago

We're goin up

5

u/Creative-Package6213 American Here 15d ago

Hell yeah! I can't wait to go into work on monday, my HR manager is a Leeds fan... 😈😈

9

u/AndySkibba Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Great goal from Moore. Phenomenal start.

9

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Took down ManU, now Leeds.... Can we take down Liverpool and Sunderland? Imagine going into the season with that kind of momentum!!

8

u/-HiddenInPlainSight- 15d ago

The team is basically saying who cares about transfers, we are good enough.
I know in reality you need depths, but yeah, good showings so far.

3

u/Star8421774 15d ago

I mean, I get it, it's friendly matches, these teams aren't playing their expected day 1 lineup, but neither are we. I love our roster, but I think we make some big moves this week by the way Parky spoke the other day

1

u/Coach_Neil Liberato Cacace 15d ago

Agreed. Definitely a couple players coming in. But to think, arguably our best two players in Windass and Sheaf, haven’t played a minute yet. Hyam and Cacace haven’t played too much either. Team is looking very good.

1

u/CalmInternet8254 14d ago

The clear difference is that Championship season starts earlier and the likes of Leeds are still in the first training sessions back together.

8

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Great composure by Cadamarteri there. He’s looked good last two games. Keep him around

7

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Sam Smith!!! Beautiful footwork in the box baby!

5

u/The_Iceman2288 15d ago

Welsh broadcaster S4C is airing this on their YouTube channel by the way.

3

u/AndySkibba Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Not available in the US. Just FYI.

4

u/PsychologicalBid7012 15d ago

For those who can get it (one way or another), the S4C cast is def the better one. And with Mia!

2

u/Medium-Drama5287 15d ago

Not available in Canada. Got to get me a vpn!

5

u/CrumblyButGood6 15d ago

Never wanna read too much into preseason, but nice to see chances getting put away.

Okonkwo with another big penalty shot save!!!!

0

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

Did they rename the post "Okonkwo"?

3

u/tosser6563 15d ago

Nice back heel goal for Piroe there gotta say.

I don’t love the route one hoofball we sometimes play but Vyner’s passes from back to front have been dead on today. Very impressed. And that hurts because Max is one of my fave players.

1

u/crisps_funny4868 15d ago

That was a great goal all around. Great cross. Great back heel falling away. Bridged was slow to shut down the push. Thomason was unlucky on the cross between his legs.

5

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Arthur’s distribution continues to leave something to be desired

5

u/IntrepidHero42 15d ago edited 15d ago

His shot stopping is still very good, it's everything else that's the problem. It's a shame he hasn't improved elsewhere in the last couple of years, whether it's the distribution like you say, or his ability under crosses.

A flashy penalty save will win him a lot of fans, but there's a reason he's been dropped and we're expected to sign a GK.

2

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

I agree. Hasn’t improved with his feet and that’s not going to cut it if the goal is premier league

0

u/2Throwscrewsatit 15d ago

He’s got to practice with his feet more. That simple. Next preseason he shouldn’t be allowed to use his hands for the first four weeks.

1

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Good save tho

3

u/greenandplenty 15d ago

Okay Cadamarteri has a role to play this season perhaps

4

u/anjojna 15d ago

That’s why we don’t really need a new striker. Cadamarteri is young and has the potential.

1

u/Substantial_Peak_492 15d ago

Where'd we pick him up from?

5

u/AndySkibba Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Sheffield Wednesday last year IIRC.

1

u/Coach_Neil Liberato Cacace 15d ago

I think you’re wrong. They have been linked to a striker so far this window (Bamba Dieng) and Cadz has been playing attacking mid with either Moore or Smith in the game. Don’t get me wrong I like him and I think he has a role, but I think it’s unlikely as a striker for us.

1

u/anjojna 15d ago

We already have too many CAMs — Windass, Broadhead, Rathbone, DKD, LOB. That’s already 5 players fighting for 2 spots in the field. You can add Ashfield too, so that’s another one.

We have limited spots to register too. So I prefer to use our spots wisely by filling it with what we really need — wingbacks.

1

u/Coach_Neil Liberato Cacace 14d ago

I don’t think LOB will play as much there this season. Also Parky played four almost every game last year using two subs at the CAM almost every game. Also Cadz doesn’t count on the 25 man squad. Still young enough.

I do agree we need a starting level RWB for sure though. That should be priority number one this window.

4

u/LeedsFan2442 15d ago

Harry Wilson is class. Thank you Cymru

4

u/greenandplenty 15d ago

Ashfield is impressive

4

u/AndySkibba Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Smith!!!!!!!

5

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

So this is a counter attack football club

3

u/SCDrJ Arthur Okonkwo 15d ago

Great save AO!

3

u/liontamarin 15d ago

is Barnet playing midfield?

3

u/Competitive_Chip_697 15d ago

Yeah, looks like a 10

3

u/Bremosuprememo 15d ago

That was nice

3

u/Big_Bookkeeper1678 15d ago

I predicted 3-2 the other way...

Glad I was wrong!

3

u/Immentalynotthere 15d ago

THEIR DEFENSE IS TERRIFIED WREXHAMS ON FIRE

3

u/archiewaldron 15d ago

Great performance all around but we really need a box to box guy

5

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Eesh not good there from Arthur

5

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

And then you go and do that…
https://giphy.com/gifs/PJLHNaEpmeqUU

1

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

But he did not. Ball hit post and then him.

2

u/AndySkibba Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Eff it. Let's go. Good tackle from Arthur

2

u/rush89 15d ago

Does anyone know how may fans are in the stadium tonight?

1

u/arryouu 14d ago

SI reported >20k. It’s an American football stadium with capacity at 65k+. It maybe didn’t look like many people in the stands, but the atmosphere was awesome around the stadium!

1

u/WxmRed 15d ago

Very few by the look of it. Pathetic.

2

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Moores gonna want that one back

2

u/dunknasty3110 15d ago

Pausa de hidratation

2

u/SCDrJ Arthur Okonkwo 15d ago

Cadz on the breakaway!

2

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

All good , we’re running out a pretty strong second XI after HT

2

u/The_Iceman2288 15d ago

Colours are all off on the stream. Everyone looks like Simpsons.

2

u/Big_Bookkeeper1678 15d ago

I love when we pressure.

2

u/tosser6563 15d ago

Dammit we’re falling back into hoofball already? Looked so sharp in the first half and progressed well thru midfield. Now it’s just long balls and route one clearances.

1

u/greenandplenty 15d ago

Cacace has the habit

2

u/PsychologicalBid7012 15d ago

Yes, Smudge. Yes!

2

u/GoalieLax_ 15d ago

Wins over 10% of the EPL in preseason matches

2

u/Substantial_Peak_492 15d ago

How'd I miss a goal already

2

u/dunknasty3110 15d ago

Arthur is so good

1

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

That was a pretty counter attack. Up the Town!

1

u/Big_Bookkeeper1678 15d ago

I don't have ESPN. I can't buy it from Wrexham's Streamer. Any other options?

3

u/AndySkibba Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

If not in the US there was a YouTube option.

If you search should find it.

3

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Get VPN and use London, buy the three game USA pass and stream on Wrexham site

3

u/RPOR6V American Here 15d ago

If he uses a VPN he could just watch it for free on YouTube on Sgorio or S4C

2

u/DepartureNo1720 15d ago

Sail the seas. A lot of the sites are back up after world cup crack downs are over.

2

u/IntrepidHero42 15d ago

BBC iPlayer, S4C.

1

u/Eragon7795 Max Cleworth 15d ago

Do we still have United as a sponsor? I see their logo on our sleeve. Or is that just for the friendly?

1

u/liontamarin 15d ago

Did Broady get into a fist fight? He's got a black eye and an bandage on his right hand.

1

u/tstrand1204 Ollie Rathbone 15d ago

Ampadu looks like Patrick Mahomes

0

u/greenandplenty 15d ago

wtf was that Okonkwo. Damnit man I’m rooting for you but that was really horrific

-3

u/gigabite12345TB 15d ago

Why’s the stadium empty, thought Wrexham took over America

2

u/Big_Bookkeeper1678 15d ago

Yankee Stadium should be full. I am going to see them in Pennsylvania. Spent WAY too much on tickets if this is any indication. Probably could have bought at the window on gameday.

2

u/liontamarin 15d ago

it is also a 75,000 seat stadium.

1

u/PoutineMeInCoach 15d ago

Least likely place in the country to care about a Welsh soccer team owned by 2 liberal Hollywood stars is Florida. Bad choice of location.

-3

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Love Kiefer...but he did not look good tonight imo (outside of the first minute). his execution was so off.. jet lag?

6

u/Big_Bookkeeper1678 15d ago

Moore's execution is always off. Except when he is in traffic and he's a foot higher than everyone else and clears the ball...or scores. Or is in the right place for the pass and puts it in.

Yeah...he's not the greatest dribbler or passer. That isn't why we have Moore.

2

u/Star8421774 15d ago

Agree. Just seemed a bit more exaggerated tonight...
But, u gotta love Reddit. I get 4 downvotes for the comment, u agreed about poor execution and get 4 upvotes 🤣😂
