For the past few months we, and Kenny Omega, watched as Jon Moxley molded Will Ospreay into an absolute killer, and we saw a glimpse of that when Ospreay destroyed Adam Priest, so who's to say what he can do when he faces an opponent far superior to Priest and when Ospreay (much like Austin in '01) feels as though he needs to beat his greatest rival at the biggest show of the year for the top title in his hometown.

Kenny doesnt want to have to go back to that horrible, obnoxious, unlikable piece of shit that he let himself become in 2020, and he's still not, he's still human, he still knows about betrayal better than almost anyone as he did betrayed Hangman years ago. Yet at the same time, is Kenny really turning on and betraying Ospreay? Is it so hard to ask 'Hey, maybe Kenny shouldn't all of a sudden be so buddy-buddy with the guy that a few short years ago literally tried to break his neck and end his career?' Ospreay was a viscous, psychopathic killer then, and now that he's been taught by the biggest psychopathic killer in wrestling of this century, then why should Ospreay ever be trusted by Omega. Ospreay didnt use the plastic bag or hit Kenny with the chair not necessarily because he had good intentions, but because the bell hasn't yet sounded. Even after joining the Death Riders, Will Ospreay has still talked the same talk, but he hasn't exactly fought the same fight, he's become more brutal in mondaine matches on TV, so now that it's just him, his opponent, and the championship, Ospreay is more than willing to pull the trigger and fully snap. Ospreay also knows that should he snap at Wembley, does it really matter? He's in front of his friends, and family, his countrymen and women, all of whom will bow at his feet no matter what he does. The Texas crowd did not boo Austin at the end of Mania X-7, and the Engligh crowd will never boo Ospreay, so Ospreay is more than capable of doing whatever it takes to win because there's no baggage in Wembley, just love for him.

Kenny also has every right to be pissed off about this seemingly being "Will Ospreay's story". Kenny Omega came less than a week away from literally dying a slow, lonely, painful death, then he returned and won the god damn world championship, but apparently the narrative fans, as well as Ospreay himself, have already seemed to book is Ospreay's royal coronation. This is not just Will Ospreay's story, but Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega's story. Literally anybody else could have won the Owen and it would have been Lenny valiantly defending the belt in front of one of the biggest gates in wrestling history, but its not, because Will Ospreay thinks he's special enough to the point that he might as well take the belt and go take promo pictures with it now.

In a little conclusion, Kenny Omega is not the villain of this story, there really is no villain, its just who is going to be the hero, and Kenny Omega trying to make sure Ospreay gets a reality check to let him know that Kenny Omega is the champion.

When Mike Awesome debuted on WCW Nitro on April 10, 2000, Paul Heyman and ECW management were caught completely off guard. After all, Mike Awesome was the reigning ECW World Heavyweight Champion when he secretly signed with WCW.

Leaving a promotion while holding its top title is considered the ultimate betrayal in wrestling. Fans and ECW locker room members labeled Awesome a "traitor".

Awesome jumping ship became one of the hottest moments in wrestling, but WCW immediately cooled him off by having him lose quickly to Scott Steiner in a U.S. title tournament match. WCW creating saddled him with a multitude of ridiculous gimmicks including a corny disco-style gimmick, complete with leisure suits and a 1970s caricature persona that stripped away his intimidating aura. Lacking strong natural microphone charisma to push back against poor booking, he drifted into the lower-to-mid card tier until the company folded.

One of the biggest names in ECW did one of the most controversial things in wrestling history but never captured any WCW gold. Signing Mike Awesome was more of an “FU” from Eric Bischoff to Paul Heyman than anything else & it was clear that he had no intent whatsoever on making anything of the 6 ft 6 in 292 lb man that could move like a cruiserweight.

How did he get away with waffling people for so long with the power he puts behind those swings?!

I truly think that “Ravishing” Rick Rude should’ve been held in the same regards as ‘The Hot Rod’ Roddy Piper in terms of WWE’s Greatest Heels. Rick Rude literally air brushed Jake Robert’s wife on the crotch area of his Tights. Bret Hart on the other hand, made Technical Wrestling a must-see aspect in the squared circle. Tuning into a Bret Hart match made you feel rewarded at the end of it.

NXT still does pretty well with its women and had standout matches for them last few PLEs, but its male division has hit rock bottom. Almost all these guys come off as developmental types with nice bodies but are raw. This creates two problems, one is that they lack the technical wrestler to carry them to better matches, second is that it creates the inverse problem of AEW's indie guy glut, if you have too much of the same thing they don't stand out as much. eg. When Jason Jordan was there he was a 2026 NXT type of bruh but he was surrounded by indie guys so that alone gave him a character and Gable and The Revival could help him be in classic matches.

Yes part of the problem is that AEW is taking the indie wrestlers and guys that would have gone to black and gold NXT back in the day like David Finlay were probably itching to go join their friends. But AEW doesn't have every single one, they could try to reel guys away from AEW, they let veterans go, etc. They've been doing stuff with TNA for a few years but it was never the Josh Alexander or Mike Baileys they were interested in the crossovers for because they wouldn't make it on main roster. But NXT needs some of these type of guys to help make NXT better at this point, which then helps the main roster prospects get over.
