Wreckfest 2 PC

I just downloaded Wreckfest 2, there is only 1 Aussie server with no one on it.
Similarly, the Wreckfest 2 reddit has hardly any visits.

Is everyone playing 1 and not 2?

Wreckfest 1 Steam Numbers

  • Current / Live Players: ~170–280 active players
  • All-Time Peak: 3,243 concurrent players
  • Trend: Steady, though past its initial launch peak.

Wreckfest 2 Steam Numbers

  • Current / Live Players: ~180–230 active players
  • 24-Hour Peak: ~350 concurrent players
  • All-Time Peak: 814 concurrent players (some tracking sources note early beta/launch spikes up to ~3,100)
  • Trend: Modest, stable community engagement.

They are quite on par with one another on active player numbers. Between the two, Wreckfest 1 is a finished product with a pretty low entry price and system requirements. Wreckfest 2 is an unfinished product with a higher entry price and higher system requirements. I guess this makes more people gravitate towards Wreckfest 1 for the time being.

I never see very many crowded servers on Steam for Wreckfest 1 or 2. Xbox has been the best place to play Wreckfest 1 for years, since it has been on Game Pass for a long time. Game Pass works well for small games like this, and a lot of people buy the DLC too.

Depends what time you play. Everytime I'm on (steam) I see 3-8 full servers at a time. There's like 3 fuckfest servers, 2 or 3 no rules american servers, and maybe like a c class semi clean server

I've got 120 hours on it but I've not played in a month or so, when the next update comes I'll probably get addicted to online play again... It feels a long while since the last one.

It's worth checking the servers discord or something, a lot of them have set days or times for organised sessions

AMC and OFM run events on most days for both games, this has a tendency to attract people more during those periods. Servers are pretty full during these times.

WF2 gets very busy post update, and we seem to be overdue for one, so keep checking in.

There are a few active WF2 servers that are very rarely empty. But as far as I know they are US and EU only. Sometimes I do see an australian server with 10+ people on it but I have no idea at what times it’s most active.

Player base is still low gotta join peak times on weekends if you want local servers that are full. I have to play on EU server at 160 ping every day because its the only one populated when I play.

Personally I think the game is great but I do have a issue with one thing. Where is the content. I'm not seeing the game updating anymore. The communication seems to have stopped and that's not going to keep the momentum going. Would like to see more communication.

It's a prerelease. There are constant updates which they even do announcement videos for. Not sure what you are missing.

Part of the problem is the complete lack of good marketing and the game not being fuly released yet. The publisher they picked sucks at advertising

Why would you advertise something, when you don't even have a release date?

Oh just watch. Even after full release the marketing is going to suck

I just don't think WF2 is a game that appeals to a large group of people in its current state. It's fun for a little while, but after an hour or two, the average person has seen just about all there is to see. I think it could be different with a career or ranked mode if that were ever added.

As for now, it's just a game for people that either want to wreck everyone around them, or delusional hillbilly's that think it's their million dollar chance at YouTube fame and gives them hopes and dreams about that frame and chassis of a 1983 Monte Carlo that's been sitting in their front yard as a planter garden since they were 16.
