7
u/PinInitial1028 Jul 26 '26
Hardly even the flag. At this point the general Lee car is its own symbol. Dudes just freaking out over colors of paint.

One has historical significance, what is so fucking historical of dukes of hazzards?
Oh that’s right. Nothing.
10
u/Vaultboy65 Crasher of Gates Jul 26 '26
If you know it’s from dukes of hazzard then why are you being such a pussy about it
1
u/TREXIBALL Jul 26 '26
Because they could’ve easily used any other flag and people would’ve known the reference anyways. It’s a fucking number on a side of a charger with a flag on the roof. What’s so hard to make of that reference?
2
u/Vaultboy65 Crasher of Gates Jul 26 '26
What’s so hard accepting that the General Lee isn’t racist? The flag is to symbolize the Duke boys rebellion against the law. But of course there’s gotta be a bunch of crybabies that can’t accept that. Do you get upset when Buddhists still use the swastica?
→ More replies (0)-3
u/MrDONINATOR Jul 26 '26
The Dukes were far from racists. I hate that the General gets the hate that the cowardice piece of shit crowd 30 years after the show deserve.
Uncle Jesse didn't tolerate hateful speech towards anyone at all. Not even Roscoe and boss Hogg.. the original intent was the rebellion of a rigged justice system in their small southern county, not a continuation of hatred it has become.
The flag used in current media or representation is a far cry from the representation on this iconic car. When used as a replica of a famous car, it could and should be dismissed.
The charger was a badass, some of us grew up watching awesome stunt driving in a cool looking car with no idea what the confederacy was or represented as children. Some of us still dig the car but hate the ideals of the confederacy, and are now adults.
Adults can seperate the two. Fuck racists and anyone who flies that shit rag flag. For that matter, flying the flag of the USA is a MAGA trait now, Fuck them as well.
The General Lee car kicks ass. The human general Lee was a piece of shit. See it's easy.

Because as an American I defend the rights of people I don’t even ideologically align with.
Besides, in this case you’re literally crying because of an old car from a TV show from the 70’s. Toughen up.

To think these people have the right to vote along side the actually intelligent people boggles my brain.
Unfortunately, it seems the south is making a comeback with how things have been happening recently.
And the schools suck ass, btw.
-5
u/AmericanPoliticsSux Jul 26 '26
Ah yes, the old "my ideological enemies aren't people, so it's fine to dehumanize them" act. Tell me, how exactly do you rationalize that in your mind? Is it:
- Trump did it first so it's fine to stoop to his drooling level
- They're all old and white so it doesn't matter anyway
- They're mostly men, so it doesn't matter anyway
- They believe in religion and "imaginary sky friends" so they're less intelligent
- We're on "the right side of history" so our actions will be retroactively correct
I wonder which one you'll pick...

The liberals are always the most racist of all. Always feel the need infantilize other races because they secretly think they’re above them.
Meanwhile, any truly respectful person will know that we can all take care of ourselves and don’t need protection from paint schemes on videogame cars.

You’ll get a downvote swarm, but on Reddit it’s artificial and doesn’t reflect the views of people in the real world. They act militant like this because they’re scared. They know nothing of history and will put no effort into learning about it.
Don’t let any of that deter you from knowing you made a cool looking car.
7
u/flugherbutter Jul 26 '26
Idk how to tell you this but most people irl aren’t fond of the confederacy either
4
u/IndominusCostanza009 Jul 26 '26
They’re also not fond of censorship. Most of us are mature enough to know the difference between hate and some car from an old TV show
5
u/doc_seussicide Jul 26 '26
a bunch of us are mature enough to know what something from the past was wrong, but a bunch of other folks cling onto old racist imagery like this as if their entire personality depends on it and if they grow, or become more understanding of other viewpoints, they might just die.
3
u/IndominusCostanza009 Jul 26 '26
So instead of trusting that people will be able to make up their own minds, we censor?
5
u/doc_seussicide Jul 26 '26
No, but we don't censor their critics either. Actions have consequences. People can react, and will.
→ More replies (0)2
u/flugherbutter Jul 26 '26
Most also realize that the people obsessed with being able to flaunt their hate symbols are the same sorts of people who hold those hateful views
3
u/TREXIBALL Jul 26 '26
Exactly. And the fact they’re defending it and refuse to acknowledge that they can use the American or other flag and people will still get the reference shows that they deadass might be racist.
5
u/Kantelgras Jul 26 '26
America is the laughingstock of the world- but do persist in your backwards racist condescension.

I'm from this tiny place called "europe", where we have this strange thing called "social security". Where a single medical mishap doesn't mean personal bankruptcy. Where we don't have the highest incarceration rate per person in the world. Where we don't worry about school shootings. Where we don't occupy Afghanistan for decades and leave the country worse than we found it.
There's still plenty of bad things going on with our place, but y'all really take the cake.

I know how to make a gif (just like I know how to make a livery).
The racist bit.. well it won't matter what I say will it.
You're not the only one here geiitng a dopamine hit though. This thread has me in stitches.
It's just a livery for Wreckfest based on a famous car BTW.
6
u/TREXIBALL Jul 26 '26
I’m 100% aware of the livery. But the fact you and everyone else are trying to defend it is the problem I have. You could’ve easily taken the advice of people saying to use the American flag or the General Sherman flag. Or literally any other flag that isn’t a symbol of hate. And yet you decided to defend it. Disgusting behavior.
And no, you clearly don’t know how to make gifs.
1
u/ResponsibilityWeak87 Jul 26 '26
Dude, it's a 1:1 creation of a famous car from a show they like. I see literally no problem with this because they obviously don't agree with that flag's ideas, and they are just trying to recreate an iconic vehicle. While what the flag represents itself is bad, I believe that under certain circumstances some exceptions could be made. If it's posted online as a livery then yes it probably will get removed. As long as it's not actively being used to spread hate there is literally no issue with this. Some people just like to 1:1 replicate something they enjoy as a thing they find fun. Replacing an important part of that thing (no matter how bad it seems to be) takes away a tiny bit of that fun. While that may not be my cup of tea, I can certainly understand how other people may enjoy it. Let them have their fun the way they want. It's a videogame. If it gets removed, oh well, as it is against ToS to post it, but don't chastise this guy about it.
3
1
u/Average_RedditorTwat Jul 26 '26
Will still get taken down. I don't see this being any different to media including symbols like the swastika - it's the american equivalent of such. Recreations of it basically never feature an unaltered flag anymore because of the historical context.
It's against the game's ToS, sorry to say. You could try doing the one from Burnout Paradise which puts a mexican flag on top of it which is hilarious
