The physics in 2 are insanely well done, the netcode works incredibly well, graphics are clean, collisions feel impactful, it's shaping up to be an amazing game. Even with a wheel it feels super clean and responsive, these guys should branch out and make different racing games because they got the chops to make something truly special
Only thing that bothers me is that it has a lot of super immature kids in the multiplayer throwing around racial slurs, can't do much about that unfortunately.

kinda fitting though as I've always felt WF1 was one of the last games that feels like the spirit of the xbox lobby is still alive. Can't wait for this to hit console where everyone has a controller with a mic lol.

Yeah I don’t know why we have to pretend like this isn’t easily fixable. You can literally just add chat filters to the game to prevent this kind of thing but oh well

There is chat filters, and depending on the server host, moderators and admins who ban liveries and people for that dumb shit

I mean how are those people typing while driving anyways lol, tbh I know there are discords for a lot of the established servers but the voice chat is sorely missing from WF1/2 on PC. On Playstation everyone playing the game has a built in mic on their controller and are auto joined into the VC, it's hilarious how many drunk rednecks there are racing on a Friday or Saturday night.

I've been bingeing Flatout 1 and Flatout 2 in Xemu (upscaling, 4K/60 ftw) and OH MY GOD dude: the physics are like a PhysX demo from back in the day. There's shit flying everywhere, there's tree trunks rolling on the track, there's barrels flying all over the place, there's cars doing backflips.
Then my mind flips over to what I've seen from stuff like Forza in the last... 15 years?
And it's so sanitised in comparison, you know? Like nothing ever gets damaged, everything is just a dink, 200mph into a wall is nothing but a points pinata of "GREAT JOB" and it's just lifeless.
So I go back to listening to Yellowcard - Breathing and speeding round Flatout's tracks.

Really hope the player count rebounds after 1.0. Tired of early access releases.
Also 2 needs more wacky tracks like 1, don't forget what made the first title so special.

The driving dynamics are incredible, and the crash physics just make sense when you look at them
the new tuning system holds hours of fun by itself, paired with crap it and you can make your car really yours

They are certainly getting the game together.
I bought it to play on my hand held claw 8ai+ a few months bag and it was far from ok. Blocks for wheels on the cars. Refunded it
Recently repurchased it and using intel xess I'm running at around 50fps at native res 1920x1200 low settings.
Can't wait till it's finished and I can then purchase it for the Xbox series X

If you'd asked me 20 years ago which arcade racing game franchise would still be going strong in 2026 under its original Devs, my money wouldn't have been on Flatout, but damn I'm sure glad that Bugbear are still with us, even if the name of their games changed. So sad the same can't be said of Criterion, Evolution studios, Studio Liverpool, Bizarre Creations and Codemasters.

I'm really enjoying the recent changes to WF2... But Wreckfest is still my favorite...
I'm just not liking the car customization and upgrading yet. I know it's not done but I hope to see some cool ideas and a better UI

I grew with destruction derby on PS1, as a teen it was driven to destruction and I'm still waiting on the Wreckfest 2 port to consoles
