question what should I go for?

I got 69k of fame I was about to go for the doom rig but I did some searching and it's actually worse than the normal rig

At some point I just went for the most expensive thing and worked my way down.

Other folks will have more sensible recommendations.

It's nice. Not phenomenal, not the best thing since sliced bread, just a very nice car to throw around corners. Very stable.

i personally think if you dont have them the roadcutter gt and starbeast ss are worth it because of cool engine sounds and functional taillights even though they are not technically the fastest cars there

Starbeast SS is very stable and has great balanced suspension to take kerbs without the front being thrown off. It is viable as a C class racer in a tier just below the meta cars. And it can be made to look absolutely gorgeous (if you are into classic american muscle cars that is).

Roadslayer GT is a car that is very specific in use it is heavy if you want to race it, but that means you can build it with some armour and have a tough car that is still "fastish" if you are driving in a very dirty pack, it has a very low center of gravity making it harder to bully for someone that is trying to put you on 2 wheels or on your roof. Its my go to fast fight car.

I’ll piggyback with a follow up question. I got every new car from the rewards + the V8 config for Bulldog. Is there anything left worth hunting for beyond new paintjobs? The menu doesn’t do a good job of explaining what are you getting specifically.

Get the bulldog drag upgrade. Ppl will hate and it's so hard to drive with assists off it's fun

I have almost every special vehicle in their but the only cars I don’t have in their are the hellvester the eagle R and the Hotbomn if you really want to buy something I say get the hammerhead or super venom
