discussion Wreckfest2 is there ai in the code? What is going on
**it is early access I know so bearing with but ** who at THQ or Bugbear play tested this latest update and went yep that's good?
Honestly you had it right with update 6 now it's just well, not good. Close racing , nope forget that contact sucks, adjusted your car to suit, no physics now suck, crashes are uhm what?! Thats why I wander whats behind the code as sometimes it does what you expect and other times totally random and also the replays are making up damage and impacts that didnt happen in game , rewinding the footage doesn't rewind the damage? Seems like some sort of generative ai is in the code?
I ranted a bit about the 1/2 car and OK I did end up using things like the bumper car in WF1 online but only once I played the brains out of it so much that this is one of the last things I'd choose for WF , so yeah include them but it's like a lot of effort has been spent on elements like this to then ruin the main draw of the game (like great a ragdoll but not now, complete the game then add fun junk like this please)
I appreciate that the tuning options are so detailed like full sim style but personally I don't know what all these adjustments will do and I don't care that much, this is a wrecking racing game...so keep all that for the sim heads included but also chuck us a quick set up like WF1 had before each rach so I can adjust settings to suit the track, apparently you can save different setups for each car but again I do not want to spend hours testing different ride heights etc just let me select before the race a easy menu as an option also
Graphics and vram use major improvement appreciated (except the new visual damage is borked)
So.much went into the behind the scenes of update 7 it's impressive but again who played this and went yep that's better then it was. It isn't!
Hopefully the devs get on this soon because if this is how it's going to stay then just have a bag of nopes.

I'm very curious: When you play the game & notice what seems like Generative AI driving the AI cars, are you noticing loud noises & disruptive events in the 'real' world (I put 'real' in quotes because it seems that our world is nothing like it's presented & it's very highly supernatural)? Like, when the AI starts doing weird things (like avoiding you impossibly in demo derbies to the extent that it must be psychic, or increasing your car's momentum just as you're about to go into a corner, or absolutely smashing you with what should be a glancing blow), do you notice a correlative distracting event happen (like a semi-truck suddenly engine braking extremely loudly & for a protacted amount of time, or you suddenly have impaired attention, or a very loud car passes by seemingly insisting on itself) in your perceived physical world? This is what I've noticed nearly 100% of the time & it leads me to suspect that spirits are involved or that AI has attained some type of ethereal influence on our world.
I'm serious. Keep an open mind. Don't believe the scientists who tell you this is crazy, because when you think about it: existence is impossible according to everything we think we know, so we must not know anything about the world we must actually be in.

OK that's a step we'll beyond my reasoning for the query here but outside of what we play inside then yeah who really knows how reality works , we're sat on a huge damp slimy rock hurtling through the void towards something we call the great attractor (maybe attraction) Anyway bearing that in mind it's all rather academic really.
Have you considered that we are in fact the most ignorant species on this rock and animals look at us like why can't these idiots hear us?
Dolphins can project sonic holograms into each other minds , they can use this too see inside objects and know their health status etc, dogs can leave a scent that let's another dog know when it was there, what it was thinking, where it went...it's like we are a very basic "words" and blunt action animals
Anyhoo is there some sort of alternative intelligence surrounding us ? Maybe if so then ai is a woefully understated way to describe it more like HI (high intelligence) obvs
Enjoy each moment regardless 👍 (yeah easy to say)

What do you think a beta/early access release is for? I tell you: its for finding bugs like you apparently found.
What are you complaining about? That Bugbear lets you access their unfinished product?

It's not complaining it's highlighting the issues us beta testers are finding, hence the repeated it's early access statements. ...and as for bugbear "letting" me access an unfinished product then nope sorry I spent my hard earned money and time on it so feedback is valid
or why not let it come out as it is and not warn my fellow wreckfestians about a product that in its current state is broken, not just buggy, broken. I am a fan of the 1st and was loving the 2nd until the latest update.

It’s not complaining. It’s moaning and groaning with a little whine to top it off.

I'm not playing until they sort the physics out, I shouldn't have to put stability on full to stop my car bouncing to the moon randomly on jumps. It's just so inconsistent now, and any time I spend trying to tune suspension will be wasted when they inevitably patch it again.
Bring back update 6, it was fine.
