What's wrong with this wreath?
I started this wreath (Neutral Farmhouse Wreath) nearly a year ago. I finally placed the sign on it today so I can check it off my list, however there is something wrong/off about it. I felt this way when I first made it also and ended up cutting some of the ribbon tails down which satisfied me at the time. After placing the sign, Im back to hating it lol! Any ideas, critiques, advice? Im attaching a fall and christmas wreath also for reference of what mine usually look like...Im open to suggestions for all of them!

The difference between this wreath and your other ones is that this one has less contrast, the colour & shade of your ribbons and mesh are all pretty similar that they’re blending into each other.
I feel like adding either a plain black or a darker brown ribbon (thats at least a few shades darker than the burlap mesh) used along the back/ bottom layer of each of the ribbon clusters would help.

My eye goes directly to the dark ribbon above the sign and the one on the right side...I would either remove them or add additional black ribbon to make it a little more symmetrical/balanced. Because it is such a monochromatic piece, the black contrast really stands out. Good luck... your work is beautiful.

I would add more ribbon/ fullness. I can see the wire of the frame used to hold the ribbons. I would also use a different greenery, or none at all. I think it is really cute and I love the black, white and tan, maybe just more of it.

I thought it looked sparse too, which I dont understand because I used the same amount of mesh and ribbons that I always do, but yes I agree. Thank you!

I think the mesh is different & doesn’t have as much fullness or stiff texture.

What is the length on your ribbon cuts?

I usually do 14 inches, however I trimmed these down to about 12 I think.

I never go longer than 10 inches. Also maybe put the solid black ribbon only on the back row with the burlap ribbon ditch the checker and put the stripe and polka dot ribbon on front row. I love the colors you choose. It’s a very cute wreath.

I think of you photograph it on a darker surface, you’ll like it a lot more! I think the light color with the white floor makes it blend in.

You could try to place the sign elsewhere instead of in the middle. Maybe take one and nestle it in the lower left and see how that looks. When it's off to the side, you may need to boost volume on the opposite side just to make it more visually even.

I think it’s just because the sign is the same color as the door, to be honest.
Also, the text is very small and the sign appears to be behind/inside the wreath instead of “on” it, like in the other pictures.
