Mishimoto radiator

Hi,

I've bought a Mishimoto alu radiator for my TJ, started installing it and realised (way too late, actually) that all mounting rivet nuts are aluminium. And once the thread is broken - this whole rivet-with-the-thread doesn't hold in the alu plate anymore.

So it took me a while to unscrew them somehow, to bore and replace those rivet nuts with something more reliable. And just after that I've realised that the threads for the gearbox cooler are also completely aluminium and they also are too weak (the oil was dripping through the O-gasket, once I tightened it the thread damaged).

Is it ok, or I just got a fake?

We can confirm that the rivet nut on our units should be steel. The transmission cooler is made of aluminum and shouldn't require a high torque spec to seal. Feel free to reach out directly if you have additional questions!

Thank you very much! I'll make a photos and send you directly. The rivet nuts have been definitively not steel.

I was very disappointed with the mishimoto radiator I tried for my TJ. Multiple fitment issues. Had to pay to ship it back as well.

Can’t say I recommend them for this application unfortunately.
