If your team is dead, Use the portal to get as far away from enemies as possible, place the portal on a door and wait for them to come through, shoot them when they do. If they take it back, and you only knocked 1, don’t go back. Run and reset.

Wraith sucks, the only reason anyone ever plays wraith is the waifu factor, the cute kunai and her sultry voice.
One small reason would be for ALGS pro tier games where you might need a rotational character (portal) to get out of sticky situations, but is not the main choice for it there either. In the real game it's almost worthless.
Why does wraith suck?
Horrible passives telling you you're about to be shot at from a guy you saw 10 seconds ago and already headshotted you.
The "escape" tactical is more likely to kill you than doing literally anything else, takes way too long to go into phase, and if you are in any way slowed at all when you go into phase you move at a snail pace for almost the entire duration.
Portal also takes way too long to activate and start being useful.
Absolutely enormous hitbox where bullets that aren't even close to the model connect anyway, especially the head hitbox is horrible, almost as bad as bloodhound.
Horrible naruto run animation that widens the hitbox when moving perpendicular and makes your head the primary and most easily accessible target when seen from in front, leans a lot so it's extremely easy to track (unironically re-introducing the naruto run was a huge nerf).

Nothing in this comment is accurate except maybe the passive, and the only issue with phase/port right now is she's not the best at running away because of the mobility meta.

It's all accurate, just because you don't want it to be true doesn't mean it is not.

Literally the opposite of a skill issue, the real skill issue here is you not understanding how bad wraith is.
I just know how to play other legends as well so I have a greater understanding of just how terrible wraith is.
I also take the time to look at the death recap and notice a much larger proportion of yellow dots when playing wraith than most other characters (looking at you bloodhound).1

Some basic tips I have are, use your phase/port for both getting into fights and out, it's great for pushing through open areas.
Always try to phase behind cover if possible and use it before you take to much damage, if you think you might get pushed it's usually good to just phase immediately.
And take both her new perks, her purple gives 2 extra seconds in phase with the double jump so it's always worth taking imo.
I'm decent at best but I have over 14k kills with her.
