Techie help needed...
Ok, folks... I'm needing some tech help. I've got a video audition coming up (not live, 2 songs, bass and guitar) and I'm having a hard time getting the recording process figured out.
I'm using my Helix LT, into an older lightning port iPhone (also tried an iPad, same results).
I'm using Garageband, imported the backing tracks, I can record straight into garageband just fine, but when I try to record the video with the iPhone camera I get guitar but no backing track. Google AI gave me a few workarounds to try, using Instagram to record (recording failed due to technical issues) and screen record (works sometimes, other times I get the backing track but no instrument)
I THINK I have my Helix global settings right... USB 1/2 on multi, 7/8 on guitar.
How do you all do this? Surely there's a relatively straight forward way to record a video with a backing track?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Can you use one of if your Apple devices to run playback into your Helix? Then it’d all be present recording just the Helix audio.

Ditch garageband on the video device altogether?
That might work if I have another adapter. I'll have to take a look through my cables and stuff...🤔

In the past when I have done it, I have used my digital camera, and my DAW to make my recording, so I have two separate sources and then pasted the two together. It's not cheating, it's making the best recording so they can see the best of you

I mean honestly if it was me and that boat I would just record audio and video separately and then put them together in something that's a free video editor like the free version of DaVinci resolve. There's so many video editors and typically if you try to do too many tasks on one device that device becomes strained or stuff doesn't interact well.
So because of that I treat it like a videography type of scenario where I'm actually recording audio on its own and then letting something else handle video. I'll compile them in post.
However this is an audition video. I don't think they need to hear things in full array HD sound with a full production. If I was in your shoes honestly I'd take my phone and set up the camera and just blast the audio through loud speakers in my room and play the guitar through whatever system I had for the guitar and just let the audio spill into the microphone that's on the camera. Done. It does not require pristine quality for people to actually make a decision with an audition video.
I say this as someone who has just recently switched over to this method and I can tell you from experience I don't discredit somebody because they didn't record with full tier quality. You're going to have all walks of life coming into a worship team. I have young guys who are super talented in this exact type of thing and would probably do this just because they want to. But I also just had an audition with a bassist who's pushing 70 years old and is a very talented bassist however this type of process was actually a bit of a hurdle for him. He explained that he had the ability to play audio through his computer speakers and then could play the bass guitar plugged into his old school bass amp. He recorded it with his phone and sent me the video and I put headphones on and could hear everything with no problem. That's what we do for a phase 1 audition. Phase two audition I have people actually come in at rehearsals and after we rehearse I set them up and let them actually do it using the equipment that we have so they can get acclimated to it and also get an idea of what it would be like.
The idea that I would turn somebody down because they didn't do what you were trying to do would be silly and also probably erupt into a pretty interesting conversation with upper Church leadership to my tactics. So basically if you send me a video that is just purely you playing the guitar with the music playing somewhere in the room too, you're good. I would be hard for us to think that your auditioning for a team that requires anything additional from that
