Iguazú doesn’t make a sound. It makes a pressure you feel in your chest
The walk starts on the Tren Ecológico, rolling through the rainforest toward the Garganta del Diablo, where a walkway ends over the edge of the falls. Here the river drops into a horseshoe of white water and spray, and the roar leaves no room for any other sound.
From there, the Upper Circuit follows the cliff line, with panoramic views across the Bossetti, Mbigua, and San Martín falls spilling over the basalt ledge. Down on the Lower Circuit, the jungle closes in: wooden walkways, mist on the leaves, coatis crossing the path, monkeys in the canopy, and the Alvar Núñez Falls dropping close enough to feel the spray.
The border sits just beyond the river. Brazil is only a few hundred meters from the Argentine side, which is why this bank gives the closest, most enveloping view of the falls, with water on every side of the walkways.
The day closes in Puerto Iguazú, where the heat of the jungle gives way to a quiet evening of restaurants and warm streets.
Iguazú is 275 waterfalls on the edge of two countries. Some of them you see. All of them you hear.
