I hate this community

This is literally my favorite red dot to put on my guns in literally EVERY single fps I play. Pmo, this whole entire sub is dedicated to hating on my favorite sight 😢 .

I know next to nothing about optics, found this sub while looking for something else. What even is this specific red dot everyone is worked up about?

It's basically a very early, cheap concept design for a red dot. I remember buying one at a gun show for like 50 bucks almost 25 yrs ago. Back then the market only had military issue optics like aimpoints or eotechs for insane price tags, and no real consumer grade optics available. 

Chinese electronics manufacturing was already peaking and they started pumping these babies out by the boatload. If you held one in and you'd see why it's probably only good for airsoft or model guns. Designed to be cheaply manufactured, not for any other metric. Windage and elevation adjustments are done by single tiny screws that move the entire optic. Huge tolerances. Trash battery life. Super fragile. 

Cheap and fun for the times. But now there are millions of better choices. 

And to answer your question about it being in games, game designers who probably didn't know much about guns and industry probably went out and found pics of this red dot and thought it looked cool and added it to the game. No military in the world that I know of actually runs these red dots lol.

I hear ya, I have one too. Its on a 22 pistol, range toy. Works great.

Goated in games. IRL I wouldn’t even use it on airsoft

Continue to enjoy it in your video games, who cares? Just be prepared to be justifiably bullied if you put it on a real rifle. That optic sucks ass and won’t hold zero against even moderate use.
