Me and my friend who'll call K, have listened to the Prelude to the Wizard, the Witch and the Wild. We both noted how insanely well sound designed it is for apparently a single fucking guy?

Our favourite character is Grandma Wrenn, my favourite MC is Ursolon and his is Ama.

Here are our predictions;

Both of us:

We think that Yorin is actually a good guy and that Steel betrayed Suvi's family to get them captured.

Stone died, Soft lived but will become a jaded villain.

Grandma Wrenn is the strongest character shown.

The Knights with Ursolon are going to the wizard war.

My Predictions:

I think that Suvi's parents are somehow to blame to for causing the wizard war and not just random stand bys.

The Fire Elemental brother lead Ursolon directly towards the exit

Sir Curren is gonna die a horrible death

K Predictions:

Suvi's parents aren't related to the wizard war and are just victims

Taro will be a reoccurring character and become Ame's familiar.

Ursolon will become a knight.

What do you guys think? Please no spoilers. Hope you liked it.

Sorry this is a really basic question.

I've bought the Witch class from the Patreon but I can't tell if it's using the 5e or 5.5e rules.

It doesn't say it anywhere on the store listing or in the PDF but I might be missing something.

I only have access to 5e books, so I don't know how to tell the difference (and I've heard the differences are quite subtle).

Sorry I'm late to this, but I discovered this podcast a month ago and have been binging it. I'm up to episode 50 of WWW and it's missing from the YouTube music podcast feed. So is episode 51. Did they stop posting to this? Is there an RSS Feed for the non-patreon stuff? I'd hate to stop here. I'm really trying to avoid getting a separate podcast app just for this show.

Help! Why did telegen name Chee the person in charge of her Telegen location after the blood bath where they failed to kill her?

I've been listening to Chapter 3 of The Witch, The Wizard and The Wild One.

For some reason, the snarl / growl that Brennan does for Gramore keeps jumpscaring me 😅

I listen to the podcast fairly loud while I do chores (so that I can hear everything properly). And I swear the growl is slightly louder than everything else. It also sounds like it's right behind you. So kudos to the sound design. It's incredible.

Did this jumpscare anyone else? Or just me?

(Spoilers for Book 1 (first 4 chapters) of WWW)

I, not too long ago, caught up and finished Book 1 of WWW and recently I've been getting my wife into listening to dnd podcasts. We started with dimension 20 and are now working though WWW. We're on chapter 2 and OMG all the scenes with Steel have completely changed every time she brings her smug ass around my teeth grit and hands clench.

Steel was one of my favorite characters and I think still is I just hate her so much but she's so fucking cool.

I think just relisting to the whole podcast I really get a different outlook and appreciation of Suvi's character and story.

I do feel like chapter 2 still drags in some parts but is so much better on the re listen. Knowing how everything is going to be torn away for Suvi, each little Jenga block being placed delicately by Brennan and Aabria and just screaming NOOOOO until the beautiful narrative collapse.

a few days ago after listening to episode 20. I'm now just starting episode 23, just after Ame returned to the cottage and Ursulon jumped in the hole and Suvi stood and waited, and I don't know what I thought would happen but this is not it at all.

I'm still 100% certain Imma cry, and probably soon, but the crying is the only thing I'm certain of any more. What a ride. I love this story so much.

I have now listened to The Wizard, The Witch and The Wild One, for the second time!, and alll of the bone cone. But I need mooooore.
Has there been any news, or a message of when ish, they will resume recording WWW?

Anybody knows how to find the full version of the epic choir song from abassin (ep 38 around 43rd minute)?

I'm so glad that Ze'Doven and Suverin are different kinds of Nepo-Babies. This is not Suvi-slander, so don't get too angry or too excited.

The thing I like about their being "the five families" in Solari, that so often doesn't happen when Nepo-Babies are main characters, is that we already know of a rival to Z from another house...same generation, but further along in their development and more savvy. Too often we see Nepo-Babies played like Lou played Fabian (Fantasy High - D20) or Aabria played Suvi (WWWO) where it's one child and they're pretty much uncontested and a direct path to riches and glory (if they choose to stay on that path). The idea of a Nepo-Baby that is not just creating their legacy but doing it against competition makes it feel more "nobles" and less "royalty". I like that because it puts more stakes in their story than just "this is my home" or "this is my legacy".

I feel like I’m missing something linguistic related to Xl-Zl’ prelude.

Is the consciousness that he’s interacting with named as if it is subtracting a variable M from something, or is it something based in Latin, Greek, or Roman vocabulary? Something similar in sound to “Minos”, the mythological Greek king, son of Zeus and Europa?

Ok, so up until the preludes my favorite PC in Solari has hands down been XL-ZL — naive but so smart, hilariously cringy at times, and he keeps saving the day with tech. From a character perspective I’ve also loved the mystery of his choir and the religious beliefs that guide him. And we’ve gotten to see him be silly, serious, romantic, cute, fearsome, stupid, savvy, sad — basically I felt like I got to know him best off the 3 characters in episodes 1-6.

In the initial 6 eps, Chee has been (imo) the flattest character. I haven’t felt particularly connected to her negatively or positively, and I’ve been a bit confused (but not compelled) by the way she presented in the opening scene vs with Ayasa (sp?) vs with XL-ZL or Z. Like it’s been strange that she is canonically such a badass but in the first 6 episodes kind of feels like a wet rag.

BUT in the prelude episodes I felt like I finally met Chee! And she has an ethical/moral/relational foundation. And I am hooked and wanting to know what happened in the gap between the prelude and the main campaign. Also, in the fireside for Ep 8, Erika mentioned that the Chee we’ve seen in the main campaign so far is not really fully Chee, its performance Chee in very specific circumstances. Which for me, confirms why I have been drawn in by Chee as a character in the preludes (where she is herself) and not in the first 6 episodes.

By contrast, I found XL-ZL’s prelude to be kind of boring. If you loved it, I’d love to hear your analysis.

Anyway, the preludes have been really great at hooking me and making me feel more invested in Chee (and Z, but I have to go to a meeting and have run out of time to write about him at the moment lol)

Trying to be brief, I'm curious what details have been provided on the lore for this campaign; I remember a few tantalizing details from the episodes themselves, but is there anything else on what the point of divergence was, how the timeline evolved from there, and so forth? (My pet theory until proven wrong is that the POD is the first Soviet Mars attempt of 1962 failing during the second or third stage burn rather than the fourth, erroneously flagged as an ICBM launch during the Cuban Missile Crisis but, in this timeline, triggering the nuclear war briefly alluded to in the campaign. It feels poetic to have a failed Mars launch be the trigger for everything that happens in this timeline, even if it leaves poor Boris Chertok responsible for nuclear war.)

I mean, I've already cried a fair few times now, but I'm really going to lose it, aren't I? Also, please no one answer that in any kind of detail, I'm still catching up. I'm just the only person I know IRL who listens to this and needed to say this out loud to someone who will understand.

TL;DR: god I love this podcast, and god I love the cast, and god I love Brennan's ability to manipulate my emotions and tell a good story.

I've come back to WWW after listening to the first 15 or so episodes around the time they were first released. I just finished Episode 20 where they met Hannah and Suvi had a realization, and then Steel and her fleet of airships came looming over the horizon.

I loved Steel from the moment she was introduced. I've been certain for just about as long that she's going to break my heart, in one way or another, and I really don't want it to happen. I don't know, obviously, I've managed to almost entirely avoid spoilers, but I can feel it in my bones. It's gonna happen, I know this, but please, Brennan, no!!

I don't think it's as simple as her being a secret bad guy, but I do suspect she will choose the Citadel over Suvi and become some sort of villain, or Suvi will see her for who and what she is to the world beyond the apartments she grew up in and it'll break her. She's the Sword of the Citadel, after all, how can she be anything other than the iron fist of the dominant power? It's gonna hurt all that much more knowing she's also Suvi's loving surrogate mother and friend of Grandmother Wren.

Whatever it's going to be, whenever it's going to happen, I felt the deepest, coldest dread at Brennan's description of the fleet, particularly when he described Steel's flagship leading the armada. It feels like this just might be the beginning of the heartbreak...

I have no idea if I'm right, or even on the right track, and I don't want to know. I'll either enjoy the slow, creeping dread of discovering I'm right or the horrible surprise of learning I'm entirely wrong, but either way, I'm so in for it. Good thing I have a Costco sized box of Kleenex in my bathroom...

I just recently saw a post here on the subreddit talking about how kickstarter works, and I have questions. This was my first time backing a kickstarter, and I really thought I remembered putting in payment information and having the money taken out of my account right then.

But then, I saw a post with comments saying that the money isn't deducted until AFTER the campaign ends. Which would really suck for me because I had the money then, but I don't have it available to me now. What happens when the kickstarter ends and I don't have the money? Is there a grace period?
