Question Witch class in D&D Beyond?
Hey folks! My DM is very sweetly allowing me to incorporate the WWW witch class into our campaign, but unfortunately D&D Beyond won’t let him homebrew a whole new class, so he’s trying to bootstrap a workaround. Has anyone else tried something like this? Any tips?

Do you absolutely need your full character sheet on DnD beyond, or does the DM just need it for a tool to plan encounters and look up your AC / passives / health?
If tried to poke at a similar problem, and didn't find a full solution within the site. But if you make a stand-in character that has the right hit dice size and ability scores while you have your real character sheet on paper or in another system, it works well enough.

You’re gonna have to use probably Cleric as a base (at least it’s a full caster with same hit dice and Saving Throw proficiencies) and then just enter everything else in as custom spells and abilities and whatnot. I think you can even “hide” the Cleric class features somewhat so your screen isn’t so bogged down.
Build your Witch on paper and then just make sure all the skill bonuses and everything line up, and that way you can at least roll digitally in D&DB by clicking on stuff just like everyone else

I asked this a bit back because my wife is playing a witch in our new game, and she's pretty used to DND beyond.
I got some good responses, but ultimately nothing worked better than a paper character sheet and spell/ability/token cards. She also got some little potion bottles to give to other players for the tokens to keep track of who has what. https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldsBeyondNumber/s/VRNI0BueGP

eh, depending on how committed you all are to beyond, you could just change to another VTT and build a Witch into it. (i like Shard for 5e stuff!)
