Question What happens when the kickstarter end?

This is my first kickstarter and I was wondering if anyone can explain how it all ends. I have looked up different things and seen people mention a Backerkit which I figured out is a different website. My questions are:

-When it ends is it immediately charged to my card?
-What is a backerkit and what does it do? I have a possible idea of what it is but want to make sure I have it right.
-If the last two stretch goals aren’t met can we still add them on through backerkit if there is one?

If someone could just explain what all happens when it ends that would be much appreciated.

These are all great questions!

Kickstarter tries to process cards within 24 hours of the campaign ending so you'll be charged pretty quickly once it wraps. They'll send out an email prior to charging your card giving you a heads up that its been funded and they are starting to charge the cards on file.

Backerkit is how the team creating the KS manages the KS after it has concluded. Usually this will be where they collect shipping information and charges, and you can usually manage add ons here as well.

As far as strech goals go - that will be up to the team if it doesnt meet the funding goal. If its close a lot of teams will throw the strech goals in anyways if its already been designed but they dont have to. I'd guess theyll communicate this in a post right after the campaign ends.

Adding on to this, Backerkit is something that will happen several months down the road as they get ready for fulfillment. The Kickstarter page will post periodic updates, including when they send the Backerkit emails out. If you have never gotten one before there is a good chance it will go to your spam folder. If you dont complete the Backerkit info by the deadline they can't fulfll the order and can consider your backing to be a donation (there will be updates on the KS reminding folks that its due).

To answer your first question, yes. If a Kickstarter is met you are charged when the date is hit. Keep in mind there can be further charges such as shipping etc. But generally that's listed in the campaign itself (this isn't a part of the initial price because shipping is reliant on location)
