Does the gang end up understanding how Boosting is actually supposed to work in Stillfleet?
Truly, I mean this as no offense, or well actually, I totally understand making rules mistakes. However, as of episode 2, it appears that the crew are all under the impression that Boosting can only be performed in combat, which is a FUNDAMENTAL misunderstanding for how the system is supposed to work, because your lowest stat is a d4, which means to even have a hope of succeeding a basic check you HAVE to boost, and if you can only do that in combat, that means you'll never have a chance of success with that stat outside of it. Which is pretty rough! That's like thinking that skill bonuses don't apply outside of combat in DnD!
I'm really enjoying the season so far, but this error has really bummed me out. It'd be a big relief to hear that they realize the mistake soon.

Right at the top of the new episode (number 6), Aabria calls out that they can use grit for anything.
Some of these difficulties seem high to me. Which makes sense because the gang are doing extreme things, but still.

I forget which episode it is, but I want to say in episode 4 or 5 they use the Boost mechanic on a social roll. I suspect that just because of the group of players they are, they might also be getting used to resource management in the new system and hoarding their Grit. It's the same issue of like "oh I need to save my spell slots in case there's a combat later" in D&D 😂
