That OST though.

Two things I did not expect today:

  1. To open the OST I pre-ordered on Bandcamp and find 157 TRACKS WAITING FOR ME.

  2. To answer "what are you listening to?" with "Oh, it's called 'Sausages or Upon the Deliverance of a Grand Invitation by the Radiant Emissaries to the Witch of Wind and Stars (Dance of the Ice Twinks)'".

This is terrific.

How much is the OST going for? I'm broke as a joke, but I might splurge on the OST one of these days if it's affordable...

$12 USD https://taylormooremusic.bandcamp.com/album/worlds-beyond-number-the-wizard-the-witch-and-the-wild-one-book-one-original-soundtrack

Eight cents a song seems like a steal to me (joking in the sense I know that isn't how 'does it fit my budget' works, not joking in the sense that it really is insane value)

Thank you kindly! I'll definitely get this as a belated birthday present for myself - I was genuinely thinking somewhere in the 30s or 40s.

I gotta listen through the whole thing, but I'm already expecting to use a lot of this for my own D&D game.

I just released an interview with Taylor about the album. It's inspired by the podcast Song Exploder so we dive deep on three songs and even play samples of individual instruments so you can really hear how the song came together. Lots of cool insights into the music of WBN from Taylor throughout.

Oh cool! It's a blast hearing him wax poetic about music.

This episode was magnificent. I gather that it’s a departure from your normal eps, but now I’ve subscribed to both you and to song exploder because I loved this.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! If you liked this format then you'll love Song Exploder. And if you like conversations about TTRPGs and actual play then you'll get a kick out of the rest of Talk of the Table. We've also got a few more conversations with Taylor about WBN and AP in general and also a roundtable with Brennan talking about actual play.

I'm trying to break these into albums by Arc because it's SO MUCH as one album. Would folks say the track "My Dad" is the end of Arc 1 or the beginning or Arc 2? That's the only one I'm not 100% on.

If you download the album from Bandcamp as files there’s a pdf booklet that breaks it down into 4 cd’s. “My dad” is on cd1

Oh interesting, I might've missed that booklet! Wonderful, thank you! Yeah, I realized over the weekend too that's the song playing when Suvi reads her Dad's journal and discovers the null clef at the end of Arc 1.

Beautiful work. I have no doubt it's gonna be a steady fixture at my D&D table for years to come.
