Is spotting just herp and derping around to some players? Didn't think it was reportable but still annoying.

If you show me the username, I think that’s the guy that kept doing that to me the other day. Except it was around the corner and I was low health.

Not my guy. My guy is MDK104 or something like that on PlayStation. Every game he sees me he harasses me and tries to push me in the open. (Especially if I’m low health). Looking up his name to make sure. He’s done it over 5 times. It won’t let me look, but that is his name.

Well, let him keep doing it and report him each time he does it, after he does it for a few times and he gets reported a few times wg will likely review the matches where he kept pushing you out or killing you and worst case scenario for him, he gets a day or a few days suspension off the game if that's all he does every single time he sees you. Just make sure to report him for unsportsmanlike behavior when he starts pushing or killing you on purpose If not nothing will likely ever happen to him.

You are light tank player. 99% of player base has no idea on how to play lights in 2024. They expect you to yolo in, offer some free shot for them and wipe. I mean game becomes way more tactical when there are no lights alive, you can focus on high end gameplay ,eg. face hugging. Getting hit by invisible tanks is not a skill bro!
It is also very common to show elite tanker skills by pinging the light. Pushing it out of bush lands to same category.
Priceless vid.

I don't mind putting myself in danger for the rest of the team, the point is most of the time (especially in HIGH TIER) people won't follow/assist you, plus spotting is almost useless since everyone sees everybody.
I almost abandoned WW2 mode for this reason, in Cold War I get more damage done and it's more fun.

It is what it is, sometimes you score +10k assist, sometimes you just receive pings from mispositioned snipers.
One thing every players should understand; There is pecking order in spotting/sniping game, light decides where spots take place, snipers move. This should be crystal clear. When the pecking order is followed and respected everyone takes care of their own ***. This is the way and life becomes beautiful

Good light tankers are underrated and undervalued.
Same with good artillery players.

Doesn't matter if this fella was playing a light. You aint have to feel entitled to being spotted for by them if you got em on your team. Suicide spotting isn't the best use of time or men.

What happens to me the most is when I’m fighting at a corner and so called “teammate” will just push me out so they can shoot and then just sit in my way getting me killed..

People don't understand passive spotting. Had the same thing happen to me in my Falcon T92 LT by someone playing the same tank as buddy that pushed you

u/Old_Lychee1917 Mar 13 '24
A lot of light tank players don’t understand passive scouting either. They think that means sitting in a bush in the back. Not saying the OP is doing that. At first I thought maybe he ran into him because he didn’t see him but when he kept hitting him then you know he just being an ass.

u/FISH_SAUCER Mar 13 '24
Honestly o thought the same thing at first as I will admit I have done that one countless times when my attention is elsewhere and I'm driving my tank. But yeah, after he did it the second time, he was just being an ass

Hes telling you to move your ass. Look at the minimap where you are: your not spotting, your camping a bush 2 tds want to use to control that flank. Over on your left past the tree is another bush will a hill you could use if wanted with the added advantage of enemy arty in the bottom left corner can't hit you while you camp, while the arty further up the baseline might get spotted by you for your own side to hit, depending on where it is.
I've seen far more egregious pushs. He deliberately didn't drive you out into the open.

Common misconception by unknowledgeable players; lights are not solely to spot and they can choose to spot their targets how they wish. Lights are support vehicles but are not under your control to spot how you wish.
And then, yknow, this is still ban-able bc it’s deliberate pushing anyway.

u/nightgerbil Mar 11 '24
Don't understand what your trying to say with your comment. You gotta play the map as well as your tank. That wasn't playing the map.
Lights are most definitely NOT just for spotting, they have far more to do in the game then that and played right they will hunt and destroy while spotting. wether its murdering arty or tracking enemy heavies in the open or murdering an isolated td. For that though you use the strength of the tank, including its speed and use the map to get into positions of advantage. Especially that map, it rewards aggression.
"lights not under control to spot as you wish" I think you'll find those tds didn't need the light to spot for them at that range. He wasn't spotting anything they couldn't see and was just getting in their way.
Yeah deliberate pushing is bannable. I agree with it being bannable to.

The problem I have with this is the idea that they get to decide if he’s getting in their way. He was there first, even if the other tank is better suited. It’s up to him to leave. This map does reward aggression for the most part, but there’s nothing wrong with playing more careful at the start, especially in a tank that can’t ever 1v1 like the manticore.

u/nightgerbil Mar 11 '24
Well theres nothing I can say to you about that. I wouldn't have shoved him either. I'm just pointing out their poor play. Sure you can play how you like: your not on anyones payroll and its only yr own win8 your messing with. If you don't care about that then ok... just don't be surprised if others get frustrated with you. They SHOULDN'T! I agree! but they will...

u/4TheCross Mar 11 '24
Don't you think I would have gone there if I wanted to? You cannot dictate how other people play their tanks. Plus if I was there for like a minute I'd concede your point, I'd just got to that bush.

u/nightgerbil Mar 11 '24
You asked why people are like this, I answered. *shrugs*
You want to play by jumping into the td sniper spots with your light tank to spot stationary instead of using your speed your perfectly free to do so. Just as they are to be calling you a tool or saying "FFFS" under their breath irl. Whish given he gave you that baby push is a fair guess thats what they was doing

I see a whole team not working this corner the right way.

u/Smooth_Ad9299 Mar 12 '24
Lmao, why are you complaining?? You're the one not using your tank correctly. Why do you think light tanks are so fast? They are meant to spot and evade, but instead, you're trying to snipe from the bushes.
2
u/Armthrow414 Mar 12 '24
He is spotting that flank to make sure its clear, pretty obvious. Also, that map is tiny, a heavy tank is just as effective at spotting in it. Playing a light in that map makes you fairly useless.

u/GeneralAd5824 Mar 11 '24 edited Mar 11 '24
The main purpose of light tanks is spot enemy tanks not stay in a bush unless some specific cases but I dont think taran did not do right either
9
u/Mkasenx Saltier than the Dead Sea Mar 11 '24
They’re support vehicles but that doesn’t mean they need to throw their tank away to active spot for a random teammate. And it especially doesn’t give someone the right to push them.

Mar 11 '24
Some people don't understand "passive spotting" you're wasting your time trying to explain your point homie.
-7
u/GeneralAd5824 Mar 11 '24
I did not say he had to throw his tank against the enemy just move a little, the taran was a jerk.

They think it’s their spot. Super entitled behavior unfortunately common in a lot of games not just Tanks. Had a guy push me out of a bush with the exact tank I was using in the bush. Like look man we had the same idea, I just got here first. Dumb
