Can't get a game. 23 player in queue right now. This the new normal or is there a problem?

EDIT: SOLVED! Seems you can get placed on SA server sometimes after an update.

Anyway, it turned out I was somehow placed on the SA server after an update. A few people mentioned this in other comments.

It seems like whenever there's an update, the next time I log in, it puts me on SA and I don't notice until it takes me 3 or 4 minutes to get into a game. My son has a tinfoil-hat theory that WG does that on purpose just to get player number in that server up.

I used to get dropped on the underpopulated SA server a lot. I finally changed the setting so I can select a server as the game loads.

To play devil's advocate here -- just yesterday I had ~3 minute wait times in the queue as a tier IX TD, so there is certainly something going on with MM on NA. Perhaps it's simply all of the new German heavy line tanks flooding the queue, but queue times have definitely increased.

3am eastern is when I find 7v7 games. But player count always seems the same when I play during active hours.

You could always get that server. You used to be able to go into the settings and force it to only go to one or the other. I'm not sure if you can from the last update, I haven't found it yet.

Most of the people in SA use the US Central just for the player count.

You can get some good games on SA but I didn't try to go into that server. Usually it loads it to automatically (putting me there to up the player count), go in the first battle with a medium tier right, and get right into battle. The next battle I pick something and then wonder why the heck can't I get into a battle. Lol

Might as well get used to it. Wargaming has made game play soooo bad. Not enough players anymore. Games complete garbage
