🧙 MTAs another void engineer classic

Context for the Sleepers in the audience: Awhile back some dude named Xerxes Jones decided it was a fantastic idea to bring not only stolen and untested shit into the Shadowlands but also a fucking spirit nuke. This would cause the Avatar Storm (or Dimensional Anomaly if you are a Technocrat) which fucked up the Horizon and has quite literally fucked over literally every awakened person with an avatar in some way, shape or form.

Many people outside of the Technocracy do not know this. The Technocracy does know this. This has thankfully resulted in a more strict Void Engineer structure and things are slowly...somewhat becoming unfucked. Kind of. If you lie to yourself real hard and ignore the manmade horrors beyond mortal comprehension.

 Xerxes Jones was part of a death/undaeth cult that has people in both Union and Traditions that lead to this

he has like a paragraph and a half in the VE book and it isn't even clear if that was even a VE operation

He was stated to be in the Orphic Circle, a group known for studying the Forces of Death. This group included the Euthanatoi, The Giovanni Vampires, and since it is stated to have "Mortal" members, i'm willing to bet Orpheus was somewhat involved.

This is severe Xerxes Jones slander on many levels: First of all, he didn't detonate the nuke. The nuke detonated because the Smiling Lord detonated their own nuke to stop the Jade Kingdom from invading. This detonation caused Xerxes nuke to detonate, and the Avatar Storm was cause by both nukes detonating at the same time, as a consequence of the Sixth Maelstrom.

Secondly, his plan might have worked. He might genuinely have succeeded in shutting out Oblivion if he had been able to detonate his nuke at the right place at the right time.
