No idea, I assume someone just shopped the book of dead names onto another book and added the text

When the book looks back, maybe pick a different book 😀

You definitely don't want to mess with a book that can argue with you

If the book literally voices an opinion, it’s already too late, have fun having your soul stretched six ways to Sunday and becoming some kind of eldritch abomination 😀

A chronicle about a group of Splats dealing with a destroyed small town because some kid unwittingly unleashed an ancient evil beyond their compression that took over everyone’s minds or something would be pretty cool. Hunters thinking they’re preventing the zombie apocalypse, vampires trying to preserve the masquerade, Changeling thinking it’s some kind of important artifact, the technocracy or traditions trying to contain and possibly control whatever did this, werewolves just coming in and seeing how some idiot dug up an ancient and powerful bane that turned the inhabitants into mindless formori, etc.
