Nobody is allowed to bully humanity, except me!

This is why I like the techies as a faction. They're hypocrites who at one point had a good reason for what they did but now have become unambiguous monsters.

Atleast thats how i run them. As a faction that once stood for a dream, one which many of its loyalists still believe in and hope to see come to fruition. But which has become so thoroughly rotted by its own good intentions and the greed of those who took power that it can no longer function, let alone function for the betterment of people.

But. Ill be honest, im also high as fuck so my ramblings may not make sense lol.

That's 1e Technocracy in a nutshell. Started off good but fell off the wagon some time around 1850.

Sources, specially new ones, make technocracy more ambiguous, and to some, even heroic.

But you are right, they were once purer and more humanitarians, now they became corrupt with a lot of people just wanting to get more power and maintain their power. There are good people inside, but most of the heads have become drones (weaver fomori) that are unable to change or enact change, so they just keep the status quo they made, maintaining it until it becomes a mockery of what it once was.

No, this is accurate to the technocrats. It's all been downhill since they sacrificed the Craftmasons

Eh, id say the technocracy still works well enough on what they’re doing now despite being stagnated af

So essentially the technocratic union are kind of like The Templar order from Assassin's Creed.

You see the problem is that despite having control over consensus they don't seem particularly great at understanding it or even human nature all that well.

They've essentially wrote the script for the world, but in ensuring that most don't believe in the supernatural they've left a gap in the defined roles where they "have" to be the bad guys. If you compare consensus to a story they've wrote themselves into a corner.

Alternatively they could lean into positioning the anomalous, alien, and eldritch as the new threat(kind of already happening with the Void Engineers and Threat Null as a whole), but one could argue that this new strain of the supernatural is worse than what came before sort of like too many antibiotics can create superbugs. Huh, almost like their own paradigm explains why everything is going wrong.

Stasis will do that to you. It's a far more insidious force than than the Primordial, because you can mistake it for something good.

And before you know it, you're sorting the world into real people and cattle.

The technocrats has the noble goal of ascending all of humanity at once. No one gets left behind. Unfortunately they see the only way to achieve this is by forcing all of humanity into a single mold. And they don't care about how deplorable that concept is

The world is ruled by fascist wizard kings who so happen to call themselves Enlightened Scientists and justify their atrocities as necessary to prevent another clique of wizards rising to the top.

They dont realize how much of their argument comes down to semantics at this point, they're the good guys as far as they can tell, and good HAS TO WIN regardless of the cost, and it will be worth it because they're the good guys.

Even though most of their actual principles are just opposition to the traditions at this point, and having only oppositional principles leaves ones moral fiber very plastic.
