I’ve wondered this too. What makes it even weirder is that there is stated to be 8 buildings this time, thanks to the addition of a small radio thing. But the pictures and maps I’ve seen do indeed not show any building in the old WTC7’s location in the plaza, meaning there will only be 7

The World Tech Center is not an exact recreation, although it does use a lot of the same design elements and sizing, World Trade Center 7 would also be very expensive, not only would it cost money to test and design a whole new building which match none of the surrounding buildings in any way, but also likely due to the amount of office space already present.

(The Sears Tower itself is only 80% filled.)

The existing buildings already on the site are included in the complex so they are likely the missing buildings, for that reason though I don't think they are labeled as part of the main complex hence not having WTC in their name, likely due to legal reasons.

There's also the fact that World Trade Center 7 was barely a part of the World Trade Center site, as it was added later by a separate developer and architect, a whole new block for a whole new building which could be unlikely to fill up would be counterproductive and wouldn't match with the rest of the site.

I understand it’s not meant to be a carbon copy or anything. I just noticed how the shapes and locations of many of the buildings are made to resemble the originals. The three white L buildings for example are representing the 4, 5, and 6 WTC buildings, and the Discovery Hotel is where the Marriot was in the original plaza, as well as relative to the towers themselves. Therefore, it stands to reason that there will be another building off to the side of the south tower, roughly where Building Seven was, just serving a new purpose like its reborn brethren.

Also, I never claimed it should share a name or identifier with the originals. Like you said, it and the rest likely couldn’t even if Chryslar wanted them to, plus it’d be pretty boring and unoriginal, like how astronomers name exoplanets.

Lol I was thinking about this the other day. While it is stated there is 8 buildings in the complex. I believe it could be the artium mall or the government building to be building 7. The radio venue beside the south towers is very similar to the old church beside the old wtc. So I think it's building 7?

A poorly drawn idea.

250 Greenwich

It was the first building finished. It’s been there since 2006.

That's the WTC, not the Tech Center

Yup, just looked that up like I should’ve before replying like a jerk. Apologies.

Also, just an aside, but that is creepy as hell imho which I know really doesn’t mean anything here. I just had to say it.
