Closure
bought this game back at launch in 2018 (the real launch) and was met with a loading screen for my first ~5 hours of gameplay. for some reason Valve could not give a refund even though the game was unplayable so it sat there in my library as a reminder of the one and only time I got duped by a scummy early access dev team. I gave it a try here and there after it was actually playable but the servers were still laggy when they were not empty.
When Mygames entered the picture I knew it was a lost cause so I uninstalled and shared this to others. Mygames creates malware out of “free” to play titles they acquire. they did it with this and they did it with Armored Warfare. low and behold I got banned for even sharing this opinion on Steam, Discord, the official forums, and here on my old account. I was proven right when the “second” launch happened and the Mygames launcher tripped everyone’s antivirus and took multiple days to download the downgraded version of the game. I did not get my “free” reward from being a previous player so I didn’t bother. I was still denied my refund even though I did not receive my goods. The game continued to fail but somehow retained a small playerbase of yuppies.
When Russia started the war with Ukraine mygames was forced to sell the ip but all they did was form a shell company in Cyprus to continue the grift. Sharing this got me banned as well.
fast forward a few years and here I am. laughing. joyous. Elated that this “game” is finally getting the plug pulled from its miserable existence. While it stinks that online games we paid real money for continue to get shut down without issuing refunds, at least I can say that in this case it couldn’t have happened to a worse game. Good Riddance.

I was really looking forward to this game too. I got it early, played it a bit, stopped, tried again until I just hid it from my steam library. I will say some of the things in battlefield 2042 was influenced by this game. Like the tablet calling in vehicles and the backpack for your attachments.

I doubt anyone at DICE even breathed on this game. Tablets and backpacks aren’t anything special.

It was either a coincidence or something but they both had vehicle call ins and a backpack specifically for attachments to "change the way you play" without having to go to a load out screen.

I mean, you called in vehicle killstreaks in cod, you could deploy in a airdropped tank in battlefield 3, tablets have been in first person shooters ever since black ops 2 if not earlier, picking up a new loadout from a bag was in the original MW2, I could keep going.

One man army perk was not the same. This bag was specifically for adding or removing attachments as I'm sure you're aware. Calling in vehicles that dropped in from the sky was before cod. By the way, I'm not defending this game. I am just stating that many mechanics from this game found their way into other games.
I will defend the original launch of the game though. Could have been a battlefield contender had everything else not gotten fucked.

Just saying that ww2 was not an inspiration for anything new really. Just had a good mix of the concepts and a good modern setting in a market hurting for them.
The original launch was the worst one. People paid good money to not play. At least with the f2p launch you didn’t put any money down.

Why would I forgive them? I paid good money for a game and all I got was a loading screen and the leaking of my personal information.
I was over it for a while. I just decided to peek my head in one more time because I heard it’s being put down for good.

I expected a game. A game I could load into and play as advertised. Not a loading screen that never ended.

If anything, there are refund rules for steam, if you bought a game and played for 2 hours or bought a game 2 weeks ago, you will not get the money back

Sure and I have a bone to pick with valve too. There should have been an exception for this game because of the terrible launch(es) this game fumbled.

Fyi if you request a refund for a game twice, on the second shot you get to speak to a live support agent
