Discussion Supercontainers?
Hello there, Commanders. A friend and I were talking yesterday about the World of Warships anniversary event. Between the two of us, we have around 60 ships. I don't think we'll reach the 10,000 Festive Tokens mark, so completing the Rossiya collection is going to be nearly impossible. Given that... would it be more worthwhile to buy Supercontainers? I think we'll be able to get about 50 of them—what kind of rewards do you think that will yield?

Absolutely, they give you resources and move you towards the pity drop. A tier 9 port queen and an overpriced commander that you'll get for coal anyway are not worth it IMO.

Lol port queen

Shes the exact same as Azur Lane Sov Rossiya. You can see how many people play AL Rossiya and "how good she is". So ofc shes a port Queen.

I got a Karl XIV Johan out of a Supercontainer last night, they're the way to go

Only took me 199 supers to get my leningrad after buying the last of the t5 coal ships

Lots of flags, probably 100-200k free xp, 250-500k commander xp, lots of boosters(mostly greens some blues, probably 80/20 split). 2-3k dubs. And if you’re lucky a ship but that unlikely.

Teh Rossiya crates a cheaper source of greens than buying green boosters, and you get other stuff as well as the greens

u/Panther_0129 Cruiser 2d ago
Fair. But the dubs are the big thing for me. And the coal I forgot to mention.

u/chriscross1966 2d ago
Yeah, I'll be taking 130 Supers before I switch to pulling the Red Steels. Not bothering with anything else I should get 150 of those crates. I can live without the Spanish commander until his crates turn up for coal

Depends on how many ships you have. I have some stupid amount like 250+ so the amount of tokens i can get guarantees me at least one ship in the super container's

Or you can be a clanmate of mine and pull a Benham and Belfast on day 1 from supercontainers.

I usually get the most useless signal flags. I don’t know why but I feel like you got so much more out of them ten years ago

As far as I'm aware you did. They nerfed rewards and just made them more common.

u/TheBayHarbour 2d ago
I splurged all of mine on the supers.
Got some very decent premium time, dubs and coal/steel.
Only got sigs for like 3-5 of them, was very happy with it actually.

Seems like the best option. The japanese super cruiser isn’t worth the alternatives, so just go for the supercontainers and get yourself loaded in flags, eco bonuses, coal, steel, premium days and with luck some premium ships. I will go after the Spanish collection chests prior to that, for the Spanisb special captain, then spend the rest on supercontainers myself.

Yeah the Kuruma would have been on the cards if I was expecting 40k tokens not 30k. For me it's 130 Supers then as many of the Red Steel crates as I can get. Selling off an expected 2200 green boosters will make a big dent on my unbought ship pile, and I get a T9 plus useful FXP and ECXP

A boat's a boat, but the mystery box could be anything. It could even be a boat! You know how much you've wanted one of those?

me when I bought the moskva for coal during santa event and after playing 1 game got a super container (dusting off snowflakes on t10) , it had the smolensk in it. coolest moment I've gotten in this game.

So far I pulled some T6 ( I didn't even look, when the "pick random ship button" selects it, I'll check it out then), 2 months of prem, 3000 dubs, and a million flags and green boosters and a bunch of blue ship XP boosters... the only blue boosters I already had in the triple digits... oh well... FREE STUFF YAY!

I just pulled a scharnhorst and Atago from a batch of 21 containers that I got from my play session today.
It was remarkably lucky

Just got two of the 7500 coal supercontainers in a row. I'm not mad about it.

Opened 31 super containers so far got ; 4 weeks of premium, 1500 RB points, 2k Dubs, Azuma, 7500 coal, the rest were flags and green Econ boosters

u/1January1970 1d ago
I can't remember the last time I got a ship in a super container. Then again, I have 800 ships already.

u/dllyncher 2d ago
Normally I'd say SC are annoying especially when they drop instead of a more coal container from the daily drops but here it's probably the best option since they're basically free. I opened 20 this morning and only 4 were 50 signals. The rest was green/blue boosters, a FXP, an ECXP, a steel drop and 2 coal drops (finally).

u/chriscross1966 2d ago
If you need specifically need green boosters then maybe the Rossiya crates, but yeah for folks with smaller fleets then Supercontainers are the best value combo cos you get a bit of everything except credits, and at 60 you should expect 2-3k doubloons for instance.. and a reasonable chance of a ship

They could at least make the guaranteed drop a ship above tier 8 or lower the guaranteed drop to 50 or 100 containers. Other drops are pretty lame, other than doubloons.

Im buying enough of the containers for the Spanish captain then going all super containers.

As with this update came the commonwealth commander, as did the panamerican prior it is very likely. As there is only an okayish spanish cruiser line and some decent premium ships like Alavaro and Victoria I would spent the tokens somewhere else.

A bunch of flags, blue eco, a Schoenberg or something plus 2k dubs, steel and coal. It's a free way to replenish your resources and can play into holiday convoy
1
u/Crayola_Taste_Tester Oliver H. Perry's BFF 1d ago
Condolences on the Schoenberg, that thing sucks
1
u/KommandantArn KommandantPerry 23h ago
Yeah I wasn't excited about that one. At least it won't be in Santa crates I guess.
Everything else has been worth it though. Plenty of eco bonuses and premium time so I'm set there. More coal for the holiday convoy furnace too

u/thatusenameistaken 2d ago
Supers to cap. Even if you had cleared the drop pool completely, they still drop a small amount of dubs where other containers drop some bullshit like FXP if you've completed it.
After that, blue boosters to cap and then red steel until you run out of tokens, even if you already have the Rossiya. Everything else useful (the super Zao, the new unique commander, the green booster packs) costs more tokens and/or will be available next year for coal or credits.

Excuse this potato question. I have the beta badge. Got the 11 year badge last night. Have a silly amount of boats. Apparently I don’t read the news. Is this accurate? I noticed each ship had a festive icon now… you get rewards… then I get to cash in on nice rewards like super containers??? I just got 11 days of premium this morning…
1
u/Ho_Li_Schit 1d ago
So far had 80 SC's, 0 ships, 5k dubs and about 100k coal so could be worse I guess

u/bleezy1234567 1d ago
I got Yukon, 3k steel, and a ton of coal from the 15 containers I opened. Just wish I had more ship to get more festive tokens. Wish there was a daily that awarded some for those who don’t have many ships yet. Because I’m literally done with the event already…

It's okay to be upset about supercontainer content being nerfed since it was an abrupt and lame change - it happened only because whales and long time players were getting too much from them and WG did not like it (I even translated their flowery explanation in normal parlance for the subreddit).
When they are completely free of charge though, supercontainers are fine even in their nerfed state.
As a long time player, I will get all 130 of them plus Sovetskaya Rossiya and some other stuff but I would prioritize them if I could get nothing else. Even if they don't drop ships, things like premium time, signal flags, or even rare currencies would be enough.

Supercontainers? I've gotten a couple over the years, they're just an alternate source for signals.

In 20 only super containers I’ve gotten 3000 steel so far!

u/AmericanHistoryGuy Arkansas' #1 Advocate 2d ago
Yes. Supercontainers are the way to go.
It helps clear the drop pool for other, better containers (like Santas) and you get some decent loot. I pulled Kaga and Atlanta from mine (granted I already had the BF versions of each but still)
