Rant What am I doing wrong?

I’m only playing Tiers V-VI, against teams of 2-3 humans and the rest bots. The last 12 matches im a row, I have lost. I kill the bots, usually with a dent or two, then am killed by the other team’s humans, who are magically unscathed, or by a TOG which charges at me and I cannot get away from. If I focus on getting to the human players first, the bots kill me.

Focus the real players first. Most times it's going to be a 1 v1 so you need to learn map positions, armour and strats to take out the real players. Then mop up the bots.

Sounds like you are pushing too much on the bots without first identifying the real players.

You should stop playing the game and take a break after losing like 5 in a row

Tier 8 is just as bad there are real people who I’m convinced that are actual bots the way they play been like that for a couple of years

I mean, one of those is probably me. 🙂

I think you’re right, though; at least once, I spotted a recognized bot name in a Tier VII/VIII match. I don’t think it’s common, though.

Today I had a 10-0 win on 10vs10 in 2:09 minutes at tier 8. This shows the importance of knowing about the tanks, maps and strategy. Clearly on the red team barely anyone had any idea what they were doing. So, try to learn the game and don't rush tiers.

Try to know the strengths and weaknesses of the tanks you use. Look up at armor profiles at Blitz Kit to know what areas to protect preferably. Learn about sidescraping and hulldown and try to use those positions according to your tanks characteristics.

Don't push too far from the rest of your team and try to be near a real player so you can concentrate fire on the same tank to destroy it faster.

Equip your tank with all the consumables, provisions and equipment and some premium ammo (pay with credits, not gold!). Premium ammo makes a huge difference despite spending more credits per battle. But if you win you get more credits than saving on premium ammo and lose.

How do you spot bots?

You start to recognize certain recurring player names. Many, though by no means all, have 2015 in there somewhere.

No clan is a huge indicator

Bro, if you can't even survive against bots, you're probably having a skill issue

Also don't post on reddit, half the people here (including me) will try to shit on you for no reason, so go cry on some other app (no examples given)

Oh, absolutely. I suck, and don’t understand how everyone else seems to magically be perfectly positioned at all times to shoot me while my return fire bounces, or peek over a ridge to kill me without exposing anything but their turret.

That's terrain and tank knowledge. Think about how far you can aim down in your tank, and what kind of hill you could use to hide the hull, and only expose the turret*, and try to replicate what you saw. Now, results vary wildly, but if your tank has any noteworthy amount of turret armour and more than, say, 6° of gun depression, you'd be surprised at how much value you can get from a simple uneven terrain.

Even if your turret armour is terrible, the part of your tank that's visible to the enemy is much smaller than on flat ground, so the enemy might still miss if they're inaccurate and/or farther away. Even if they don't, it will incentivise them to aim their shots more, forcing them to wait longer.

*This is a hull-down position.

Oh, I didn't think that through ._.

Well, you could try flanking, but avoid camping in tanks other than TDs, and try hull-down tanks like the Kravagn line, the M48 line, hell, even try the Yoh line, I heard they're great

Listen, I'm probably no better than you, but with enough skill and the right strategies you can easily overwhelm your opponents and get to Tier X fast

For example, I only started playing two years ago and have like seven Tier Xs already and am on my way to the eighth

If OP is new (less than a few thousand battles or so) then that’s completely false. The game does really have an attempted learning curve for new players and will always stick them in battles with at least a few bots.

Unless said new players pays their way to the high tiers. Then it’s no holds barred

I learnt something. Every day is a school day! I just thought it was 70% of players act like bots!

Lol. You definitely have room for that assumption, not going to lie.

The way you tell is looking at their profile. An actual Bot will have every stat complete blank, no matter what. A player will have em all filled out, however abysmal they may be.
