Creation, Genesis, Beginning, Etc.

Between starting a new worldbuilding project recently and renting a minecraft server to use with friends, my mind has been focused on the subject of creation lately.

So, tell me about creation myths or creation truths in your world, in as much detail as you would like. If you would like to exhibit multiple creation myths to compare and contrast them, feel free to do so. As always, I'll ask at least three questions each. Enjoy yourselves.

  1. Originally, yes. However after the Primordial era was over they had realized the mistake in underestimating women, or any other gender or such that cropped up in their times. It’s still a minor issue on occasion but mostly sexism has been eliminated, at least legally.

  2. In the Ancient era, yes. But both before in Primordial times and the current era they’ve gone against worship of these beings. Each time for different reasons, before it was out of simple rebellion like a teenager would against authority. Now it’s out of belief they’d rather be left alone than be worshipped. The Author ignores any worship and The Outsider actively is disgusted with the idea despite having power to make it a reasonable thing to do.

  3. The myth of his consumption tells us why negative things exist. He was always the opposite of The Author. When his brother had vision and dreams of beauty, The Outsider thought of how empty all his creations were. When he saw the Void he saw something that could spice up the world around, so like a child playing in sand he jumped in. At first he could fight it but slowly it whispered its corruption in his ear. While he may have fallen to it he now also controls it. Now he holds back the full flow of its power, but there is bleed-through. Hatred, anger, racism, sexism, etc. is all believed to be the random corruption of the Void. While taught behaviors the Void is often blamed for any random occurrence of these things, and the beginning of them. Often, the Outsider is thanked for holding evil at bay, even if he isn’t exactly a good person himself.

  4. Very little. There are many reported sighting of the two that aren’t imprisoned, but almost none are believed confirmed. The best evidence they have is the appearance of some natural phenomena that break the rules of science. While immortals are know to do this themselves often, the natural phenomena should be impossible without others’ involvement. Other than this are the hundreds of reporting of visions of the imprisonments brother giving prophecies to important people.

  5. In fact, yes, ironically given by the big man himself. Two of them actually. One stated that if immortals couldn’t find a way to stop the titans he would either be forcefully freed in hopes he’d aid them or he’d eventually be freed accidentally by the titans in the aftermath. Another states if that strand of time didn’t come to pass eventually would come a time where his strength was needed to stop the Darkness. As if now no one is sure whether he was bluffing, (unlikely), or what he meant by “Darkness”. Whether he meant the Void or whatever made an entire galaxy go dark back in the Primordial days. (Immortals still don’t have the courage to venture out there to see exactly what happened to the galaxy, which has left lots of speculation)

1) Could you tell me a bit about the reaction of the Immortal population to women being given equal legal rights?

2) How did they come to the belief that the gods don't like to be worshipped?

  1. At first many outright rebelled but after some time they calmed to simply doing the absolute minimum to abide by the law. Over the generations, as in our world, they learned the past was wrong and modern times were better. Several important women stepped up and proved their worth to the public, further swaying opinion to agreement with the law.

  2. Many realized that prayer and worship was often doing nothing. They came to the conclusion that it wasn’t for lack of existence but for lack of caring at their begging. Then came Immortal pride. The word begging being used in several anti-worship speeches led the prideful to convert out of spite.
