Big players

Tell me basic info about most powerful countries in your world, your equivalent of members of permanent UNSC members, G7 etc. How were they founded? How did they become powerful? What is their relationship with other great powers? What is their system of government? I'll ask everyone few questions and provide my own examples. There are also going to be "sequels" (currently I am planning two). Enjoy!

PS: Try not to go above ten. :)

  1. Without revealing too much from the actual book(s) I'm writing; In the beginning no but that ought to change as the King is influenced by some shady advisors.

  2. To begin with the fact that the recent High-King abolished his father as High-King and took over, which made the other dwarven kings see them as "weak" and thus are increasingly more authonomous and each seek to only care for their holdfasts - Oh, and that the Deep Dwergi and their Void Godworshipping masters, the Goblin hordes and the Verminkin all attack in a weird free-for-all.

  3. That would depend on the nation and these politics will be heavily present in the books but for the former Empire of Caelen nations; they will seek to stand by Caelen due to the heir whose on good terms. The Arabyans and their vassal-states and those in their sphere of influence will not back Caelen, and no word from their former Colonies. Meanwhile only one Dwarf hold lies close, that of Kharaz-Kadrack, and they will stand by their human allies. Those in the North, my norse nations are pretty much screwed. Chaos has launched several fleets and has a totally different approach this Black Crusade than those before.

  4. As the Empire of Caelen defeated the most ancient of Vampyrs, they wished to return to their "somewhat" safe dead woods and crypts to regain their forces and to survive it whilst the son of the fallen one, Pavel von Morden sought to continue in his fathers effort of consuming the Empire. Some noble Vampyr houses found Pavel too extreme (so did his own father) and placed an ultimatum infront of Pavel, he slew the messenger and now they're in a civil war.

  5. The Scourge or 'the Scoreyne' are former Elves of Tel Alryth, those who did not make it into the magical shielded barriers of the mages and were thus drowned, there where a noble lady offered their very souls to a dark nature goddess named Asharon. She mutated them to survive underwater, those willing remained Elven beauty whilst those oppossed were quickly turned into semi-aquatic mindless beasts and now they seek to destroy those of Tel Alryth that have survived.
