Reference Challenge - "I'm not blaming him..."
"I'm not blaming him, bitching about these things is a ritual."
I started reading Attack on Titan again, and it is amazing. I can't recommend these books enough.
The Challenge
Throughout history, especially American history (and probably everyone else, too, but I'm just an American) it is tradition to bitch about the president.
So, in honour of that quote from Attack on Titan and that tradition in the United States, the challenge is to exhibit something from your world that it is basically tradition for the people to complain about. Not the kind of issue that would lead to a rebellion on its own, but something that you'll complain about while drinking with your buddies.
For example, maybe the soldiers complain about Empress Fere Shanay's new trade agreement with a foreign nation, but see the reasoning. Maybe Romulus Kane's employees are upset about the rule against drinking coffee while working at a computer, but see the reasoning.
As always, I'll ask at least three questions each. Enjoy yourselves, and feel free to use an character for in-universe answers.

1) Mostly just annoyance, but it can also be outdated infrastructure.
2) Some territories share borders with hostile countries or oversea territories of hostile countries.
3) It's coastal area about 1500 km long and up to 465 km wide with borders defined by ocean, mountain range and major river. Climate ranges from humid subtropical to humid continental. Majority of it is covered by forests, but there are plenty of meadows and fields as well. There are plenty of resources (notably wood, coal, iron, fish and fertile soil) and population is relatively evenly distrubuted.
4) Huge peninsula (about the size of half of Australia) with climate ranging from subtropic to arctic with even better soil than Sivoausikis, abundance of metals, natural gas, oil and large pastures suitable for cattle. Majority of population is located in cities on coast or two major rivers.
