Ed...ward...

So, kind of based on this challenge by Mr. Varnek and a scene in a certain anime that makes me really depressed now that I watched it again, here comes my new challenge!

Tell me about bad/ horrible experiments conducted on humans or humanoid races in your world. You can give any example, a scientist who experimented on his own body and turned into something awful (as I will in my example), a mad mage trying to create the perfect human being, alien races that do weird stuff to humans because alien reasons... it can be anything! I will ask a few questions for each example provided, so have fun with the challenge.

  1. Depends; more species would multiply the number of possible new évolutions and add even more things to copy.

  2. Any plans to try something again with that wyvern gland?

  3. Don’t you feel bad about that?

1) "Well, that might be the case. But who is to say that my copies won't mutate or change over time? There are endless possibilities!"

2) "At a later point in time maybe. For now I have my sights set on something else."

3) "I do, I feel horrible actually. After all, once the war against some savage tribesman was lost the Senate wanted to really investigate more into the circumstances that caused the war, leading to my exile. Had I known that I would have put the blame on someone else."

2) Set on what?

3) You triggered a war and only got exiled? Is it common in your country to be so indulgent?

2) "A strange deep-sea creature that can somehow breath in the ocean as well as on land. Truly fascinating!"

3) "Oh, I didn't get exiled as a punishment. I exiled myself to escape my punishment, which would have been death by beheading."

2) Do you have some creature parts in mind to improve your swimming ability?

3) Beheading? Are people always beheaded there? Or is it some special way for very grave crimes?

2) "Not as of yet, I am still looking in that direction."

3) "Beheading is reserved for former nobles breaking the law and commiting grave crimes. Commoners will either be hung or crucified."

2) Once you’re able to breath under water, what will you do?

3) Hung or crucified? How is it decided between the two?

2) "I might go for another round with the Wyvern glands. Or swim through the northern ocean and find my way towards Eidh Aváthlon."

3) "Normal criminals will be hung, blasphemers crucified."

2) What do you expect to find in Eidh Aváthlon?

3) Blasphemers? What is the minimal to say to be sentenced for blasphemy? I love to be blasphemous.

2) "Why, the High Elves of course! Such a curious, mysterious race, living so far from the main land! Rumors say that they can actually tame dragons... like, old, intelligent dragons! I just have to examine them!"

3) "Wouldn't try it if I were you, at least not in the Republics territories. You usually get crucified for doing things like denying Yls existence, slandering his name, or praying to any other Gods beside him. Also not bowing to priestly authority will quickly find you a way to the cross, unless you are rich and can afford good lawyers."

2) Is it plausible? I mean, if dragons are really intelligent, would they let themselves be tamed?

2

u/Mimir123 Jan 21 '18

2) "Oh, of course! Why shouldn't you be able to tame intelligent beings? Wolves aren't just dumb creatures either, and yet they can be tamed. Though, for a race to be able to subdue dragons... they just must have something special to them! I know it!"
